Shine readers offer up their best parenting advice
editor
Asking for advice online takes moxie, which is why I love it when Shine users write posts seeking tips from other readers. Just within Parenting I've seen Shine readers come to the rescue of other users with comments that offer bloggy hugs, "I feel your pain" vibes, details on resources, tips, and advice. And when it comes to parenting, you definitely need all of those things, often times all at once. It's like one big mom's night out (only without the booze and good eats).
Here are some of posts where Shine users tossed out some requests for advice, have received some responses but can definitely use your two cents. Check 'em out:
- Saving money while pregnant. Tasha's getting ready to have her first baby and she's trying to work on saving money now. She's off to a great start but I bet you ladies have some more ideas.
Keep the posts coming! And if you have you have a parenting-related question or topic you what me to cover, you can
drop me a note.

teenage gangup on mom.......i have a 15 1/2 year old daughter that i am having trouble with.... see feb of 2000 i was pregnant with my third and last child and i went into premature labor they had to give me the med to stop the contrations off and on from feb to april 5th during that time i had to make several trips to the er to receive this medication and i was on bed rest so my husband and my oldest kayla (15 1/2) had to take care of me and rachel my 3 year old and the house so needless to say mommys little girl (kayla) had to grow up pretty fast i was so proud of how she took the responsibility but i wish now i had not put her in that position because now she tells me "i don't rember you being a mom and your not a mom now" when the time finaly came for jake to be born i had to have an emergency c-section (cord was wraped around his neck) he was born at 10:13am april 5th a very health vibrent loud baby boy. i had my tubes tided well while i was in the hospital i got a staff infection at the c-section site that went from one side of my side all the way to the other side diameter the size of a silver dollar i was in the hospital a month because i had to have it debreaded and paced 3 to 4 times a day i refused to stay in the hospital with them letting baby jake to stay with me during the day so we could have our bounding time and at night my husband would take jake home at night. well with the bed rest before the baby and then being in the hospital for a month after the baby was born i was never diagnoised with postpartum depression but i had it and i had it so bad that evenually it turned into bipolar ii with depression, anxiety, cronic migranes
in october 2001 i basically ran away from home for 3 days and didn't tell anyone where i went. (i went to the casino boats in kc) i had wrote 3 thousand dollars of bad checks and had nothing to show for it and i was afaraid to go home so i was sleeping in parking lots (in the middle of december) this is when i was officially diagnoised bipolar and i was admitted to a psyc unit thats when they put me on meds at one time i was on at least 23 diffrent types of meds i was so doped up i didn't know if i was comming or going if it hadn't been for kayla and my wonderful husband brian taking care of jake the baby and raceal i don't know what i would have done. It is sad to say, but i can look back now because i am on the right meds to treat my bipolar, (3 diffrent meds) i don't rember the first 2 years of my sons life because i kept getting put in psyc hosp and they kept changing my meds, seeing several diffrent drs, untill 2 years ago i meet dr rasheaid, my psycologist, and dr. holly, my thearpist, they have me on a good regimein. but then my dad pass in november and it was very trymatic for me and it flared up another disease fibromalgia so i am starting from scrach with new diagnosis they have me on a pain regiman and i go to physical thearpy and continue with my thearpyist holly i now take 8 diffrent meds and i usually go to the emergency room 1 to 2 times a week because the pain gets so intense with all 3 deiseses act up cronic migraine, fibrmialgia, bipolar phase, when all are flared up to gether my meds don't work i have been like this for 9 years and i have put alot on my kids especially my daughters kayla and rachel. i have just recently got the depression under controll but still have bad days at times. my bipolar for the last 4 months have been active with one episode a month so they had to put me on a diffrent med so will know the effects of it in a few weeks hopefully its good. so now that u know the whole situation how do i get kayla to respect me and have a mother daughter relationship insead of a daughermom mother relationship will consider any thoughts or ideads i am really despreat i am losing my little gril

I thank a lot the advice online. They are convenience, timely and useful. I have got kinds of help from these advices making many things which used to trouble me settled. The most impressive one is beestar.org which is advised by a nice parent. It’s a very wonderful website for kids to learn math and reading. My daughter has been doing the weekly exercises on beestar since the day I order the math and reading exercises and she loves them so much! Because the exercises are interesting with many figures and questions. Besides, the exercises are systematic, according with the school curricula. It also has some stimulant mechanisms. I commend beestar here to all the parents who need help to accelerate their kids to study and hope them can benefit from beestar, just like me.

Your comment seems impressive, Lisa. I also heard about Beestar, and just plan to try it. But my daughter is only 4 1/2, and she hates to sit down and work on computers. So, do you think it is the right way for my kid? And which program do you suggest? Thanks!
