I've worked with these awesome kids for many years, mainly in the school setting. All ages and all kinds of diagnosis. I must say they have brought me so much joy; Along with fraustration and patience. I want this blog to share stories and exchange advice , as well as come up with new ideas for you or me.(I have a boy with extreme ADHD) so I really have the teacher and parent part shared in my struggles. I'm all for main streaming in school and feel it can work in about all cases. What joy it gave me my first year on the job to have a mother come to me in tears and tell me" how did her daughter make so many friends, I'm so used to her sitting in her wheelchair under the tree with just her aide." That's the day I knew I was to do no other job. This was my calling. She has Retts Synrome she is soon to be a 7th grader, she plays in the band , sings in the choir, presents class projects, and is allways being asked to save a seat next to her at lunch. The guys dig her to. Fight for your kids. They thank you already.
