THIS COUNTRY IS IN THE BABY BUSINESS!

There is no doubt that this country is in the baby business. It has become alright to not be married and to have all the children you want. And at times there are women who have two, three or more babies and their children all have different fathers.
I really don't care how many kids they have. That's none of my business. But when they're not married and they're collecting off my tax dollars, then it becomes my business.
It's like me walking into their house and getting into their pocketbook and take money out of it so I can make payments on a car I can't afford.
I know I may get some bad feedback on this but I don't care. No more than they care about stealing my tax dollars.

I see many really young mothers. I feel for the children.

It's sad to wonder what will happen to these babies.

Young mothers AND fathers BOTH need to be responsible. Raising children is not easy, but it can be done. BOTH parents need to realize this.

Too many young mothers. Too many fathers that don't care.

    Who suffers? The children.

    So very sad.

I have a similar story to Peapod's, except it concerns financial aid for college. I stopped in the Financial Aid office to see if I could qualify for *something* to help me with paying for textbooks. Nursing textbooks are insanely priced, usually above $120 for one book.

Anyway, I went into the FA office and inquired about financial aid. The woman asked if I had any kids...I said no. She said that I didn't qualify for any financial aid they had at the school, I could only see if the government had any grants or a CalGrant.

What does having kids have to do with getting an education? I'm all for moms (or dads for that matter) going back to school to do better for their kids but why should I have been denied some kind of help just because I didn't have any kids? Ridiculous.

    Good post jax. :o)
