True Motherhood Confession: "I Wish My Sons Weren't Straight. I'd Love a Gay Son"

A few readers have shared their true confessions, such as "My boyfriend has no friends" and "When I visit my parents, I sleep in their bed."

Today, a woman reveals that she has always wanted a gay son...

Judith Newman has two young sons, Henry and Gus. (Cute names, right?) She adores them madly, but as she wrote this month for Cookie Magazine, she just has one pang of regret: She wishes one of them were gay.

"I don't mean to stereotype," she says. "Maybe with a gay boy I wouldn't be better dressed and accessorized, and maybe my home wouldn't have exquisite window treatments. But let me ask you one question: Have you ever met a gay man who didn't understand the importance of good lighting? I would always look 10 years younger in my own home."

Read her full story here. It's definitely tongue-in-cheek, but I'd love to hear what you think...

Tell me your thoughts! And fyi, we have a bunch of wonderfully romantic posts about falling in love with people of the same sex, coming up!

P.S. Read 23 more true confessions, including "I've never waxed down there" and "My boyfriend is much, much shorter than me."

So funny on so many levels here. My BFF and I have always said every woman should have at least one gay man in their life! The ones I know seem to be more in tune with my womanhood than I am some days.

Haha, my friend is a stand-up comedian and he jokes about his uber-liberal mom being disappointed when he "came out as straight". chookieboo and mamakenzi need to take a chill pill though. Seriously, gals.

As the sister of a gay man, and the more-then-likely mother of one, this made me giggle!

LOL, that is so funny. My BF is extremely metro-sexual, and we have total role reversal. I cannot decorate a room to save my life, but he knows what to do. He loves shopping and I hate it. He picks out my clothes and does a nice job, I get complianment on everything he picks. Except he doesnt cook. Gay men love him.

You want you son to go to hell ! Gay is wrong and is wrong in gods eyes, you disgust me wanting that poor boy to be gay, you need freaking help. What is wrong with the world we live in. Gay people need to stay away from public and stop giving bad examples to our children! God bless all the straight people and I hope the gays will see the light and change their ways because it's so wrong!
