What You Need To Know About Stuffed Toys

Stuffed toys benefits on a baby's development are vast. However, a rule of stuffed toys is that they should make their appearance once a baby is able to sit up. If your baby is not able to sit up yet, a stuffed toy can actually be hazardous and should not be in your infant's crib.
Before giving your child a stuffed toy, inspect it for any loose or glued-on elements, get rid of them because they may be a chocking hazard.
Stuffed toys can take on important development and emotional roles in your child's life. They are tools to teach imaginative play and role playing, they are companions and comfort objects to your child, and they are often objects of true emotional connection.
During the second half of his/her first year, your baby will start to show interest in stuffed toys. Use this type of toys to engage your baby in peekaboo or any other interactive games. Remember, your kid is more interested in playing with you. Although, they are great toys, they are not a substitute for you.
The golden age of stuffed toys are during your child's toddler years. This is the make believe age, the time when their stuffed toys come alive.
Always look for stuffed toys that a small child can easily handle. If a child can't control the toy, carry it around, etc, its play value is diminished.
Be sure to wash and dry your stuffed toys regularly. Stuffed toys are quite good at collecting allergens, such as pet dander, dust, and germs from eager toddler hand and mouths.
