I haven't seen the first woman who ever walked on the earth. But I know Eve must have been a great person - an adorable angel. Yes, the Bible tells us that she got poor ol' grand daddy Adam into trouble with that offer to take a bite at the forbidden fruit. But Adam sure could have refused the offer. Else, why did God create man as a thinking being?

Women are fun to be with. They are perhaps the only being on earth who can take on any avatar and play it with elan. Mother, sister, wife, daughter, friend, lover, granny....women are fun to be with.

When we were contemplating our second child, I seriously prayed for another daughter. Our first child Sandra is an adorable child. She is sensible and sensitive. I doubt if I would have loved her so much if she were a boy. My wife, on the other hand, secretly wished for a boy. A daughter and a son make a family complete, she reasoned.

But for me, two daughters would have meant three women in my immediate family - I would have enjoyed all their attention. Only, it was not to be!
