Worms and Dead Birds

Well here we are on the fourth day of solid rain.  The tribe is restless.  They are running through the house like banshees!  We are trying to work off some energy by cleaning up the mess we have made of the house this week.  I open the door to take out trash and the cat comes zipping by.  I don't think anything of it until the kids start saying she has something in her mouth.  When she drops it is a dead bird.  Screaming and mass panic ensue with four children running, screaming (ok so I am at this point also).  The cat is looking at us like what the heck is wrong with them now and trying to reclaim her prize as I am shouting at the kids to get her out.  They very valiantly try to herd the cat out while I run for the dustpan to dispose of the bird.  Finally we manage to get it and her out of the house.  Calm once again.
Then the rain breaks long enough to go out and play!  Hallelulah my sanity is saved for another day!  I am folding laundry in my room when screaming breaks out in the kitchen.  My two year old has a worm which he has proudly brought in to show us all.  I tell him what a nice worm it is and that he needs to play with his worm outside.   He brings it around to show his sister's and they start screaming again.  I am sure he is thinking man this is fun and proceeds to chase them with his worm.  We finally pursuade him to take the worm back outside where I am afraid he brought it to it's demise.  Maybe now we have had enough excitement for the day!
