25 best romantic movies of the past 25 years

Ahh, we love a good romance, especially on the big screen. The folks over at Entertainment Weekly attempted to pick the 25 best romantic movies of the past 25 years--no easy feat! Mediocre rom-coms are a dime a dozen these days, and many of our all-time faves actually came before 1984. That said, we disagree with many of EW's selections.

First of all, we know "Titanic" was the biggest box office success story, but was it the best love story? No way! Also, what is "Once"? We've never seen it--have you? "When Harry Met Sally..." really should have nabbed the top spot. "Jerry McGuire" doesn't belong on the list, and though we love a Disney classic, "Beauty and the Beast" shouldn't make the cut either. We give kudos for less predictable choices like "Edward Scissorhands" and "There's Something About Mary," but the tragic, punk ending of "Sid and Nancy" doesn't scream "romantic love affair."

Which films do we wish were on the list? "As Good as it Gets," "Something’s Gotta Give," "Sixteen Candles," "Hannah and Her Sisters," "My Best Friend’s Wedding," "The 40 Year-Old Virgin," "High Fidelity," and "Four Weddings and a Funeral."

Take a look at EW's 25 picks and tell us which romances you think they left out.

1. Titanic (1997)
2. Moulin Rouge (2001)
3. Once (2006)
4. Brokeback Mountain(2005)
5. A Room with a View (1986)
6. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
7. When Harry Met Sally... (1989)
8. Jerry McGuire (1996)
9. Pretty Woman (1990)
10. There’s Something About Mary (1998)
11. Edward Scissorhands (1990)
12. Lost in Translation (2003)
13. Dirty Dancing (1987)
14. Ghost (1990)
15. Out of Africa (1985)
16. Amelie (2001)
17. Say Anything... (1989)

Eww.... there are only very few movies on this list that I think makes the cut! Ok disney movies may not be reality, but hey most Human romantic movies arent either.. So Beauty and the Beast can stay on the list alongside with Aladin and all the other love sappy cartooney movies! ha

YAY for Sid and Nancy! It is such a great movie and it rarely gets noticed. And Eternal Sunshine! But you forgot "Dan in Real Life". LOVED IT!
