To be honest, I believe that making polygamy "legal" would solve many problems. What I mean by "legal" is basically approved by women.
Let’s try looking at it from a perspective that we rarely use. It is no news to anyone that men are polygamists. It means that they basically love all women in the world equally.
Of course, it may vary depending on one's personal tastes, habits and upbringing; normally men tend to lean towards women that remind them of their mother, or perhaps an imprint of a "perfect woman" that they inherited together with their other various stereotypes. All in all, it’s a certain "type" of woman that a man usually likes. Nevertheless, this "type" usually includes dozens, if not hundreds of women that are equally attractive for the man.
Whatever the “type" consists of, it is not necessarily only the looks of the woman, but her other qualities as well. Some love smart, some funny, and so on. Most often it’s the combination of certain qualities in a woman that a man becomes hooked on.
I have always noticed that men love women almost as much as they love cars (yeah – almost!). They treat them like cars too - really love them when they're new, but then get bored after awhile, no matter how gorgeous, hot or expensive the car is. And it’s the same with fidelity. A man can be faithful to a certain model, but make him drive same car all his life? Not a possibility.
One absolute certain thing here is the fact that this arrangement is not going to change. Men will always remain true to their nature, no matter how hard women try to change them. Just when we’ve extended our man the benefit of the doubt, he prove us wrong by cheating and lying about it.
What is my point here? That basically men are made this way, just as we as women are by nature monogamists and prefer to be faithful. While we have yet to find out the reason we are designed by nature like this, we can at least begin accepting the fact it is indeed the case.
It won't make anyone happy if women try to adapt men's qualities and fight for society’s acceptance of having more than one partner. No matter how hard we try, our nature won't change; we will remain female.
But truth be said, we actually have better things to do, like setting up a good example for our men. Because in the end it all starts and ends with a woman. Would there be as many unfaithful husbands without any "home-wreckers"? Where would one hire a prostitute if there weren't any offering their services?
Think about it – if men became "officially allowed" to cheat, would they find it as attractive and fun, when it’s no longer a secret?
