Birth Control Help?

user

Hey y'all, I am an extremely busy person and therefore am sometimes scatterbrained about everyday things like eating the healthiest things, taking my vitamins and especially my birth control pills. I am the worst at taking that pesky once a day pill and i'm just over it.  So i've been thinking about getting the implanon (it's like a plastic thingy that gets inserted into your arm and slowly releases hormones over the course of 3 years)  but I am a bit nervous to actually get it, because the reviews about it have been so random and expansive from Love love LOVING it, to "it is satan's invention".  Which makes me feel a bit confused. Another kind of option was the shot and nuva ring. I hate needles and i've heard horror stories about nuva ring and would like to hear some stuff about that too.  Anyone on here have the implanon or know someone that has it and can help me out with it? I would love some feed back from people who know something about it.

Thanks!

I had the depo shot before. it was really easy and you dont have to remember the pills and what not. But you might not know if you would get your period or not. I have been using the pills for the last 2 yrs. And i am as much of a scatterbrain like you. But setting an alarm for taking pills helped!

I don't know if you ever watched the TV show "I didn't know I was pregnant," but one of the young girls who had a baby and did not know she was pregnant until the last minute was on the shot. The show said that she did not miss any of them either. A coworker was on the nuva ring when she became pregnant with her daughter, whether or not she was using it correctly I cannot be sure. If you are brave enough to get something inserted into you arm, good for you! It seems like a safe way to be sure not to have any "oops."

Look, get your tubes tied- or his, dont mess around. If you cant remember to take your pill, do something much more reliable. Try the IUD mirena- same hormones as the pill, minimal risks and side effects, and can be removed easily. Maybe try the depo shot, lasts for 3 months. Every BC method has side effects and horror stories and failure rates, so abstinence is the ONLY 100% reliable method and there is no getting around it! Please be careful, a baby is wonderful when ur ready, not a moment before- I should know- I have 5 beautiful children (i use the mini-pill faithfully)and will not be having anymore till I'm ready!!

I personally do not use birth control. I tried but it actually makes me physically ill. BUt I can tell you about a few friends and family.

One friend, use regular pills for many years. And was just fine. She did switch over to the birth control patch for a while too. She said she really liked not having to take a pill everyday.

My sister, does not like the pills at all. And she decided to go with the ring. She says she absolutley loves it. For her it works well, and is easy to use. She says as long as they make it, she will use it.

Another friend, used the arm implant, when they first came out. After a yr or two she had it removed. It was good for five yrs i think, but she said it was really messing with her periods and body instead of helping. I dont know what she uses now though. pill I think.

Another used depo shots. And again used it for some time. Then decided to stop because she did not like the side effects.

THese women all have vastly different body types. Periods, etc. So to each there own I guess. I think for every one though it was trial and error. What works for one may not work for another.

I must say though, while I do not use Birth control. If I had to , I would go with the patch, or the ring.
