Could you handle a day without the gays?
editor
In celebration of International Human Rights Day on December 10th
and in reaction to anti-gay ballot initiatives in California,
Arizona and Florida,
DayWithoutAGay.org has come up
with a brilliant way to peaceably fight the opposition. The gay
community is asking for supporters not to call in sick, but to
"call in gay" in order to take the day off from work to
volunteer time with various organizations that promote equality.
(For those who fear getting fired, there are other ways to
get involved.) Oh and you don't have to be gay to call in,
duh. Given the huge organizing success of
Join the Impact and the nationwide
protests this past Saturday, we wonder how many people will
actually call in and say, "Can't work, I'm too gay
today."

Most of you seem to be missing the point here. You should take a look at this page: http://jointheimpact.wetpaint.com/page/Day+Without+a+Gay
As you can see, there is more planned for Dec. 10th than simply "calling in gay". There's a movement of economic boycott, community service, and social activism at once. If you can't take a day off work, you can do some of the other things.

JD is right, life is too sweet and short not to be happy. Life gives you lemons make lemonaide. Sometimes you might have to look extra hard, but usually there's a bright side. Yes, I thought about you not having a job and the bright side to that story; however, you never know who you might meet going to school for your degree. You never know what priviledges and advantage are ahead of till you go down that path. And life can be an adventure and fun. Do you know it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile. And sometimes when you are happy on the inside and it shows on the outside, you could become contageous and cause someone to smile. Never know what you got till you use it, baby!

Hey Angelina,
I never mention school loans,my school was paid for by me,nobody made you gay or made me choose a medic as a job,but if my house is burning down or my family is involved in an accident,I dont give a crap if you are black, white ,gay ,straight, hell I don't care if your a purple lesbian,I want the guy who scored well enough to save me and my family,so please don't assume you know anything about me.
They hired a minority who scored 30 points less than me and did not pass his EMT.
That's my only point,I could have pissed and moaned and I did a little, but now I'm CHOOSING to do something about it.
ALL I SAID WAS STOP BITCHING ABOUT IT AND DO SOMETHING THATS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

I would so do that but I am not gay. I do think gays should have the same rights as straight couples when it comes to marriage.
