Date the blonde, marry the brunette? Archie proposes to Veronica

Six hundred issues and 67 years later the love triangle between Betty, Veronica and Archie in the "Archie" comic books has come to a close (though we're sure it won't last for long). In an issue on stands September  8, Archie Andrews gets down on one knee in a jewelry store and proposes to the rich brunette, Veronica Lodge, leaving blonde girl next door, Betty Cooper, the odd woman out.

As a kid, I grew up reading the "Betty and Veronica" spinoff of Archie comics, and as a brunette into fashion, I found myself rooting for Veronica. But she was often bratty and manipulative, unlike the genuinely good-hearted Betty, who strayed from the typical dumb blonde stereotype. Betty was smart and athletic, but despite her flaxen hair, it was Veronica who was more popular with the guys.

And now this age-old battle has ended. But outside of comic book pages, do gentleman prefer blondes or brunettes? A new survey found blondes losing out in the real world, too. 1,300 people were surveyed by internet dating firm Parship.co.uk, and found that while in fact, blondes tend to "have more fun," this gets them into trouble which ends their courtships prematurely. What constitutes bad behavior? "Turning up late, running away from a partner, getting drunk, and telling their potential partner choice tales about their ex and previous sexual conquests." Another big no-no: blondes are four times more likely to partake in according to those polled is going home with their date on the first night.

Society has given connotations to blondes and brunettes that linger in our minds, consciously or subconsciously, and can cause us to act in certain ways. But do you think it's possible that brunettes are more victorious is relationships based on their hair color? [Jezebel][Telegraph]

WELL duh! Archie is totally looking for a sugar momma! Betty, she's cute and everything but come on. Money talks. Especially if you're proposing to someone while still in high school, as you have been for almost 70 years....

I think that sometimes the steroetypes of society has about blondes and brunettes can affect how some of us act or are viewed. I think it depends on the person, but in my opinion, brunettes are way more seductive!

I love my almost black hair color, but I have had several boyfriends who were surprised that I did not wish I was a blond.
