Do Men Have You Confused?

I love women, but I'll be the first to admit that they absolutely confuse me
. Every time I think that I'm close to understanding the female creature, something happens that makes me realize that I haven't got a clue. I'll give you an example...

One of my best friends is a woman who worked hard to put herself through college, got a good job afterwards with a major corporation, hustled her way into middle management, and established a good life. She was always particular about the men that she dated, often avoiding guys who didn't meet certain standards or criteria. I was always proud of her for what she accomplished, despite the odds against her.

Then, out of the blue, she confessed to me one day that she was pregnant. The problem was that she was pregnant by a guy that she didn't even like. He hung on corners drinking 40's, never kept a job, and lived as a small-time drug dealer. What made her attracted to him, I'll never know.

Her daughter (my God daughter) is now 11, and has very little contact with her father. On the other hand, I take her to movies, pay for her ballet, babysit when needed, and attend sher recitals and other school events. Occasionally, her mother and I will discuss what she saw in the father. Her comment to me is that she knew he was a bum when she met him, but it was that "bad boy" image that caught her off guard.

This made me contemplate some of the things that confuses me most about women. Here are just a few of them:

1. Why do men have to put the toilet set up? Why can't women put it down?

2. Why do women fight for equal rights in every area of their lives, except taking out the garbage?

3. Why do men have to help out in the kitchen, but women never help out under the hood of the car?

4. Why are women so attracted to "sales", even when they don't need the item on sale.

5. Why is it that women want to date good hard working men, but would rather sleep with men who treats them a sluts?

I would appreciate any enlightenment on these topics. Also, I'm curious as to...What Confuses Women About Men?

    Thanks Brenda,

I never realized anyone missed me, but it's great to be back. Been dealing with a lot of issues after the death of my mother, but I've finally got it all worked out.

I really appreciate your stopping by to say hello.

    1. Why do men have to put the toilet set up? Why can't women put it down?

I think it's just, men can pee with the seat down, but when we go to sit down we fall into the toilet and that's NEVER fun... If you somehow had to deal with falling into the toilet with the reversed situation you wouldn't be too pleased either =)

    2. Why do women fight for equal rights in every area of their lives, except taking out the garbage?

I don't fight for equal rights, women and men are different in every way. BUT if I'm the one who cleaned the entire house and I'm staring at a full trashbag, yes, my husband should take out the trash.

    3. Why do men have to help out in the kitchen, but women never help out under the hood of the car?

Good one!! I love this question, but I would totally help out under the hood of a car any day if I were asked to.

    4. Why are women so attracted to "sales", even when they don't need the item on sale.

A sense of accomplishment I guess? I enjoy sales, but only when I'm looking for a specific item and it just so happens to be 30 percent off!

    5. Why is it that women want to date good hard working men, but would rather sleep with men who treats them a sluts?

Another great question... one I can't answer. Something about the forbidden that attracts us (Eve and the apple anyone?). I know "bad guys" aren't necessarily forbidden but I think its a similar concept.

Let's see... what confuses me about guys?

    1. Why can't a guy look at a girl whose a friend, as just a best friend and nothing more? Why do they try to take it to the next level?

    2. Why must a guy immediately jump into the next relationship after the first one ends? Don't they need a grieving period?

    3. Why would a man call a girl after a first date to set up the next, and then never follow through with the second. Why not just not call after the first date? Why make an effort to call for a second then blow it off?

    4. Why do we have to be quiet and understanding during the game, but you have to ask me a thousand questions while lifetime is on?

    5. Why do guys like skinny girls? Why do they enjoy photoshopped barbies and not appreciate what a REAL woman's body looks like? Especially when they have a beer belly themselves.

#1 the seat thing, ultimately, the consequence on a groggy morning is me falling in & getting my butt wet & an ugly hip bruise, guys find bruises unsexy..

#2 Equal rights (to vote & own a home) are 1 thing equal RESPONSIBILITY Is quite another, ill birth & rear the children because Im designed to do so & he can do the heavier lifting because he is designed too, its all about our natural balance really... & plus men are sensitive to a womans smell, garbage smell not so sexy, but a sweatty man on the other hand is very stimulating.

#3 If i do ask my husband to "help" in the kitchen its often because i miss his company, want him by my side, & kitchen duty can be so isolating.,& id be glad to help in the garage, but if i took the inititive he would loose his manly sense & that again is sooo not sexy, guys & thier testosterong are fragile things!!

#4 & 5- to shop to shop is retarded, I don't waste $ or my time, and wants vs. needs (especially for women) are way way not don't in moderation, makes me testy...

#6 I love my hard working man, i married him actually, and once a long time ago i slept with a guy that made me feel like a slut.. our "lovemaking" ended abruptly & he had a shiner to show for it (true story) but a WOMAN does like to be treated like a sex kitten from time to time ;) your own personal that is..

what im trying to say is it is important to live by what personal balance actually works for you, not societiys projected standards!!

(on a side note, are you sure you dont have more romantic feelings for your female friend?? if so i would suggest telling her in very, very subtle ways you care more deeply! good luck in life!)
