Do You Have a Relationship Role Model?

Just got back from a weekend in LA, where I was visiting my brother, his wife, and their 9-month-old son. It was super fun (we took him to the zoo for the first time!) and super exhausting (as in, I was the one who had visions of going out and party hopping they live in a cool West Hollywood neighborhood that's steps away from a lot of fun bars and clubs but was passed out on the couch by 10pm), but mostly, it made me realize two things, one is how much I've learned about relationships from both of my bros.

They're 10 and 9 years older than me, so I've always really looked up to them and have always idolized their girlfriends. Now, one is married with a kid and one is . . . not sure what's going to happen (long story there) and I seem to be quintessentially single and I love how they still come to me for advice into how women think. Basically, the cool thing about the brothers, and something I reallytruly hope will continue as we all grow older is that we do.

The second thing I realized is that I'm a little bit scared of California do you ever have that feeling about a state, or a region? I'm from the East Coast, so for me, California symbolizes the back of beyond, the end of the line, this WHOLE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY (realize I'm being dramatic, but go with me, I haven't slept!). I blame this on watching Sunset Boulevardover and over again at a formative age (seriously and this is an aside it's my favorite movie ever. I even dressed as the main character, Norma Desmond, for Halloween in seventh and eighth grade. Of course no one knew who I was trying to be). It's also because I really REALLY hate driving.

Anyway, that aside, I am an East Coast girl with an affinity for the Atlantic Ocean and as great as California seemed, I just can't imagine myself ever living there.

But maybe if the right person came along . . .

So, while I know it's ridiculous to be afraid of California, what I'm asking is has a guy/relationship ever changed a fundamental opinion or belief (silly or not!)?
