Feminism no longer necessary with the arrival of penile cleavage

hollister.jpg
So, we were doing a little wholesome holiday shopping the other day at a typical American mall when we walked by this mannequin outside a Hollister store. heck-oh! Is that visible stem? Um, yeah. This couldn't be the work of pre-teen prankster mall rats, or else the pants would have been pulled down to reveal the entire anatomically incorrect package. No, this had to have been art direction sent down from corporate. Official penile cleavage. And we couldn't help but think that this was at once a step forward toward true equality between the sexes (i.e. equal opportunity objectification, yay!) AND a step back toward Idiocracy, where pervasive advertising appeals to the lowest common denominator of our reptilian brains (it's the caveman club bonking us all on the heads, making us stupider and stupider, crasser and crasser). Titillated, disappointed, and confused, it was time to get a Cinnabon to make ourselves feel worse.

um... wow. it's nice to see men objectified for a change. on the other hand, i don't know how i would react seeing an actual man wearing that. i don't like it when women show off their naughty bits with really low cut pants, so i don't think i'd appreciate it from the men. at least not walking around in an everyday situation. it's like women with ridiculously large breast implants. you can't help but stare, but you don't appreciate the "art" or whatever they're going for unless you're paying to see it.

horrible visions of my exes not properly cleaning themselves are floating through my head right now. maybe this will give them an excuse to wash up.

Completely strange looking. Definitely don't want to see that look out in public, on a HUMAN, no less.

Yeah I dont think this trend will last very long. Who wants little kids seeing male cleavage? What man would want to show it? We already freak out when we see teens with saggy pants and you can see their boxers, now we will show skin? dont think so

I wondered about this too.. especially since this has nothing to do with selling the pants. Why would a mannequin need to be THAT realistic??

    Creepy !

I saw one of these in the mall by where I live. My friend pulled up the pants and tightened the belt.

Um...are they TRYING to make it easier for perverts to expose themselves to unwilling viewers? A little boob cleavage is fine as long as they cover up what can't be shown on TV. But genital cleavage? That's just wrong. No one should have to or want to see that unless they're in a relationship. This is just gross and wrong.

I'm thinking if a man walked down the street like that he'd get arrested for indecent exposure.

I think we're all so caught up in the whole 'ehh indecent exposure.' I'm not sure it's that big of a deal. If a guy wants to show off his 'penis stem' then so be it.
