Here come the brides!!!

Ashlee and Pete may have surprised everyone this weekend with what some Hollywood insiders are calling a shotgun wedding (hey, if Ashlee actually is pregnant, then at the ripe old age of 23, she's practically an old hag compared to Jamie Lynn Spears!), but Ellen has her own news to share: She wants to make an honest woman out of Portia de Rossi.

According to Jossip: “A spy in the audience of this afternoon’s taping of the Ellen DeGeneres Show tells us that after Ellen mentioned today’s California Supreme Court ruling striking down the state’s ban on gay marriage, she surprised everyone and announced that she was going to tie the knot with longtime girlfriend, actress Portia de Rossi. Portia was in the crowd and after she made the announcement, the studio audience went wild, giving the two a huge standing O.”

We reported last week that California says "AOK" to gay marriage, so get ready for Hollywood heavyweights like Jody Foster, Cynthia Nixon and um, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson to potentially make some big announcements. (One question: Where the gay dudes at?)

Actually, this is kind of awesome. I mean, with the way America worships celebrities, the more famous people that demonstrate that gay marriage doesn't result in the explosion of the universe the better for gay rights in general, right? MORE gay marriage in Hollywood, LESS plastic surgery please!

I'm excited that another state actually made it legal. the GLBTQ comminity deserves the same amounts of rights that those of us who are straight have. They're American citizens and should not be treated as second class citizens.

(Little about me- i was very active in my highschool's Gay-Straight Alliance)

j.latoya: if he's going to be with someone he loves, it's prolly not a waste of his life.. well not as much as you wasting your life pining over a gay guy who couldn't care less about you.

It’s sad to see our country demoralizing; it’s becoming politically incorrect to speak out against homosexuality. It’s simply a sexual perversion that has been indulged and after a short amount of time that indulgence becomes a requirement for excitement. I don’t hate homos but I do hate the life style they represent.

I have always thought that no one (including the goverment) should tell you whom you should love. If it is wrong in Gods eyes I don't have to answer for another persons sins (that is if it is one)Our goverment should not be involved in a persons personal life, Gay people pay taxes like straight people and should be offered the same rights. If you do your research you will see that gay couples stay together longer than most hetro couples. The heart wants what the heart wants.

Here we go again. I am against "Marriage" between same-sex couples. Civil contracts, yes, marriage, no. One must look at what the institution of marriage is about historically.....procreation and the legal rights of children. Same-sex couples cannot procreate with each other, period. They can adopt children, but cannot procreate their own as a couple (without an outside donor). Never in the Western Civilization has a homosexual couple been given legal status as a marriage, even in ancient Greece or Rome, where homosexual lovers and relationships were routine in certain classes. Civil Unions or Contracts can give "equality" under American law in certain areas. But the right of Marriage can never give a same-sex couple a child born from that union. Now will a "gay" couple now have to be provided a child for their marriage? And I haven't even brought in the religious element of a logical argument for my position. Our laws are based on the English Common Law, which is derived from the Roman system of laws. I guess "straight" couples should sue for Civil Unions so the gays don't have those to themselves. Or perhaps we should just have couple contracts, renewable every 7 years or so, just like professional sports. At the end of the period...you just leave for non-performance or have a contract renewal.

i don't think it's no one's bizness who u love, and how u love just respect yourself, your mate, and others around you. there's a place and time for everything and there are ppl watching and they might not be cool with certain things. what you do behind closed doors is your bizness, but when you're openly slobing on your mate it could be a bit much for sum. ppl now days are crazy just to keep yourself safe be considerate of others, but marry who u want cuz its nobodies bizness what you perfer. RESPECT

It is disgusting and very sad to think that this country...or the world for that matter is saying that its ok to be gay/lesbian! God said that the world will be like this in the end of days. It is a sin to live that way...God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. If you can't find a person who makes you happy...for heavens sake, quit looking in all the wrong places! better yet, quit looking and have faith in God that He will send someone your way to fill that empty hole, maybe you aren't ready to be in a relationship...trials, and testing...your maybe not done growing? whatever the reason have faith!
