How Can Sex Make You Lose Weight?

The book "The Ultimate Sex Diet" by Kerry McCloskey explains how to lose weight by having sex. Though it can seem too good to be true, sex can actually burn calories and tighten muscles if done on a regular basis. Here are some facts that support the idea that sex should be the next exercise craze.

Calories

To lose weight you must burn more calories than you eat. The best way to burn calories is by exercising. If you have ever ended up sweaty and winded after sex, you've probably just spent a substantial amount of calories. In fact, just a half-hour of vigorous sex can burn from 150--350 calories. This is the same as taking a fast walk, lifting weights or jogging for the same amount of time. An hour of very active sex burns the same amount of calories that are in a Big Mac. So, an overindulgence can be rectified by a little time with your partner.

Timing

So, as you can see, timing is everything. To burn calories, and ultimately lose weight, you need to stretch sex out into more than a quickie. Adding more foreplay to the act increases the calorie burn even more.

Kissing

Foreplay through kissing can burn quite a bit of calories. A 150 pound person can burn up to 18 calories every 15 minutes by kissing. So, just an extra 30 minutes of kissing before getting to the deed can burn an extra 36 calories.

Lifting

Sex can also incorporate weight lifting if done creatively. Lifting your partner and raising your own body weight with your arms and legs can build muscle. More muscle burns more calories.

Boosting Self Esteem

According to an interview done with Dr. Robert Friar of Michigan's Ferris State University by Fox News, sex may not make you lose weight because of calories lost, but it may boost your self esteem enough to help you lose weight. A boost in self esteem raises serotonin levels in your brain. This is the hormone that helps you stop eating when you are full. The more of the hormone you have, the less likely you are to overeat.

    This is so true. Those were the good old days of youth though. When you are really having sex and not just completing a chore, the raw power that is exzuded is like nothing else on earth. I almost feel sorry for those who don't feel that electric connection. I only wish I could have taken my connection further. Making love to an amazing woman that is your wife is a magestic experience in itself filled with all the youth and vigor most folks pray, besides doctors can't re-create what not even the greatest porn stars can fake. it's not so much of the sex, but the concentration of the intensity and the good vibes throughout that not only help you loose wieght... you may even appear to glow. Making love, feeling loved and loving someone who feels the same about you are great self-esteem boosters that increase your energy for a whole hell of alot more than a workout. Heck if done right, you wont be worried about loosing weight or a workout... just food, sleep and some more of what you just had.
