But, if you want to do inversions and really give it a work out, you should install the HARDWARE in your cieling or floor.

1. Most ceilings seem to be about 8' tall (or 96 inches). Of course, if you live in an apartment or a condo or if your house is older, you should measure. Also, sometimes more expensive or luxury homes seem to have 9' cielings, but again, MEASURE before you buy a Portable Stripper Pole .The pole that has the most "wiggle" room for various ceiling heights is the TLC Portable Private Dancer Pole . This pole will work with a cieling anywhere from 7'4" up to 9'2" tall. This pole can be used with or without the hardware required for the ceiling. If you do not want to install the bolt in your ceiling, you can just use it with the compression. (Wedged tightly between the floor and the cieling.) 2. If you really plan to give your pole a work out and you want to hang upside down from it, the strongest and most strudy pole seems to be the My Sexy Stripper Pole from Sweet Lust. Again, this pole has a bolt or nipple style attachment for the ceiling. It's very easy to put up and take back down, but you do hae to install the bolt in the ceiling to give it the strenght and stability to allow you to spin and hang upside down on it. (You should be under 200lbs with all of the poles.) I should mention that all of these poles work best with the type of ceilngs that have NO texture.
