What is up with celebrities dying today? First it was Farrah, and now this. It certainly puts some nails in the coffins of my youth.
While I don't know these celebrities, of course, I felt touched by them none-the-less. I came of age watching Charlies Angels re-runs. My first date was Michael Jackson's Victory Tour. How many high school dances were spent on the floor... ahem... in the corner watching bad boys in parachute pants bust Billie Jean moves on the floor? (Don't even make me get into Beat It references.)
I am once again reminded how fragile life is. No matter how famous you are, or how much money you have, everyone goes out the same way. For this very reason, I'm restating my vow to make the most out of every day with my husband, my children, my family and friends. There is less time for toxic relationships and harsh words. Mistakes don't need to be fatal. Life doesn't have to be perfect. It just needs to be lived. And with a little luck, enjoyed.
Here's a big hug to all you Michael Jackson and Farrah fans out there! And here's hoping you all have someone to hug in real life. Because at the end of the day, that's what matters most.
Now get home, Rex! I'm tired of these long hours! (But I'll make you dinner anyway. Because that's what a spouse does for another spouse, even when they're tired. Just like you'll stop and get me a large Diet Coke. Okay, kidding on that last part. Okay, not really. Love you.)
