Poll: Will You Help Me Choose My Wedding Dress?

12-joanna-goddard-alex-williams_sm.jpg
Yesterday, I brushed my hair, put on red lipstick and biked over to the J. Crew store in Rockefeller Center (at 30 Rock!) to try on wedding dresses. It was really fun and exciting. My brother came with me to offer the male point-of-view, and we narrowed the search down to two dresses. So now I'd love to ask you: Which do you prefer?

(Alex, don't peek!!!)

Dress #1: The Cecelia dress reminds me of a Greek goddess--romantic, flowing and simple. The wide V-neck neckline is flattering (and shows off the collarbone, which guys love), and the silk gown drapes beautifully (read: no lumps and bumps). This was my brother's favorite dress, which could mean that Alex would love it best, too. Another bonus is that I could wear my hair down. (And look how romantic this dress is when it's styled with a brooch!)

Dress #2: As you may remember, I tried on the Gracie gown over Christmas and adored it. (Read the story here.) Then, a few months ago, I suddenly had second thoughts (cold feet?) and returned it. But yesterday, in the J. Crew dressing room, I fell in love with it all over again. The natural waist and halter neckline add curves to my boyish figure, and the deep-V back is both sweet and sexy. Dorky confession: I feel like a ballerina in it!

TAKE THE POLL HERE.

My dolls, I would love to hear what you think...You have been such a help and inspiration to me during my wedding planning, and I'd be so grateful for your two cents! xoxo

Personally I like the first one... but I have more classical tastes.. And if you love it and you know your hubby to be will love it too, why not? I actually think there are more curves in the first one.. but that may be because of how she is standing too...

Good luck on whatever dress you choose.. :D

First one definitely, I love the neck line and it looks sheik and sophisticated.

The 2nd one is nice but the halter neck line looks like an event in the Hamptons not a dress for your very special day. Definitely the first one! :-)

blah none look very enticing, but i'd had to say the first, I want a whole royal queen look, big and fluffy with a train that never ends, if I am still a virgin I'll wear the white (wink) if not, I love reds and blacks, maybe Oriental wedding, I love the Japanese gardens

I would pick the second -- the first reminds me of the neckline that the photographers made us wear for senior portraits :)

Not everyone can wear a halter, so if you can I say go for it!

I love the first dress! They are both nice, but the first one looks more like a wedding dress to me. The second one, I'm not sure "too casual looking" is the phrase I'm looking for, but it's what I'm coming up with. All I can really say is that if you haven't TOTALLY fallen in love with either of them, then keep looking. Every bride deserves to have a dress that makes her feel FABULOUS!

#1 is so simple & classic. #2 is more trendy. i'd recommend #1 because you're going to treasure the photos FOREVER! & classic doesn't go out of style. congrats!

I LOVE the first one but you really should get the one that speaks to you first. Which one makes you feel - I CAN NOT WAIT TO GET MARRIED IN THIS!!
