Poor Bride: How to Get More Wedding Money in 3 Easy Steps

Although the new platinum wedding is custom and couture instead of costly or commercialized, sometimes a Bride-to-be still needs a little help convincing her parents (or her fiancé for that matter) that her wedding budget is running a little thin.  The following are 3 simple steps guaranteed to help a Bride-to-be approach a difficult financial conversation- and come out ahead.

1. Use a few facts to support your case.

Assuming that you have already balanced a reasonable wedding budget that is within reach for yourself and your family, let them know that you have taken their situation into consideration first and foremost.  Then explain to them that a wedding can be very expensive, and that you are planning to keep your budget below the norm regardless. For example, the average cost of a wedding these days is $21,000!  And that is just the AVERAGE...maybe that will help them put things into perspective.

2. Use some research to help your cause.
Find wedding websites that offer inexpensive options, but also provide exactly what you want so you'll be sure to save a bunch of money and have an even more perfect wedding.  Plus, this will definitely show your parents that you won't settle for anything less than the wedding of your dreams, but at the same time you are making it a priority to be conscientious of their bank accounts!

3. Last, be sure to be thankful and understanding no matter what their decision!
Many Brides-to-be have to pay for their own wedding, and that is a tough situation for anyone these days. Plus if you remind yourself to be grateful for what you already have, you are sure to enjoy a lifetime of happiness regardless of the ups and downs of life.
