Should the father/daughter incest couple be sterilized?

As if the news from the polygamy ranch in Texas isn't bad enough, there's another mind blowingly disturbing tale making the rounds today: An Australian couple, who recently gave birth to a baby daughter, are also father and daughter. A judge separated John, 61, and Jenny Deaves, 39, on incest charges, but currently, they're simply "being monitored." According to a report this morning in the Australian Broadcasting System, a high profile child advocate, Professor Freda Briggs of the University of South Australia, claims the couple should be sterilized to prevent them from bearing more children.

The whole story isn't here. She was adopted in infancy and they never knew each other until she reached adulthood. Although rare, it is not unheard of for adult adoptees and opposite sex biological parents who are reunited to have a sexual relationship. Both individual need serious, serious counseling.
