Steve McNair And 4 Other Tales Of Scorned Love

We had just finished our second helping of July Fourth cole slaw when we learned that Steve McNair, the 36-year-old Tennessee Titans quarterback, was found dead in his Nashville home. Ruled right away as a homicide, McNair was killed by four bullet wounds including two to the head. It was a grisly table-top discussion, no doubt, especially since experts think the gun-toting killer was none other than McNair's 20-year-old mistress. Police won't confirm for sure, but it's looking like the pert, pretty woman he'd toted around on vacations and successfully hid from his wife pulled the trigger. And not metaphorically speaking, either.

Hell hath no fury than that of a woman scorned, indeed. Which got us thinking: what are some other beastly acts that can be traced to a soured romance? It was scary how easy it was to come up with a quick few.

1.) John and Lorena Bobbitt: Who can forget this tale of a quarreling drunk couple, a carving knife and sausage-shaped object thrown carelessly into a field? Made from the stuff Stephen King only wishes he'd penned first, Lorena Bobbitt very famously grabbed a carving knife, chopped off half her husband's penis, hopped in a car and threw his manhood in a field right around their Manassas, Virginia home. The police valiantly searched for a severed penis, found it, and reunited John with his wang during a nine and half hour operation. Of course, Lorena claimed John abused her and of course he denied it. She was later found not guilty because the jury thought she was crazy. Sounds about right.

2.) OJ Simpson and Nicole Brown: The sad story of OJ Simpson and ex-wife Nicole Brown is another epic legend that errs on the side of crazier than fiction. As we all know, Nicole and lover/friend (?) Ronald Goldman were found dead outside Nicole's home on June 21, 1994. As we all know, Nicole's ex-husband OJ Simpson was eventually pegged as prime suspect and as we all know, Simpson got off. OJ and Nicole had a tumultuous marriage. Before divorcing OJ pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge.

3.) Lisa Left-Eye Lopes and Andre Rison: The late TLC band member was convicted of setting her boyfriend's house on fire in 1994. Lopes claimed she just wanted to "barbecue" his shoe collection as a revenge for his infidelity, but inadvertently ended up turning his entire mansion into open flame. She was sentenced to five years probation and therapy at a halfway house.

4.) Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman: Although wonderful to look at—who doesn't enjoy two colorful cartoon character extremes, he's a giant, she's pint-sized, etc.—Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman's marriage lasted less than a year. Good thing too, because in 1999 Carmen and Dennis were arrested in Miami Beach on charges of domestic violence. According to Electra, Dennis was jealous of an ex-boyfriend and according to Rodman, Electra punched him. Who knows.

Hello, so we read the stories of love scorned....but when it turns into domestic violence why do we choose to ignore it....the above are stories, but what about your neighbor next door when you hear her moaning, pleading for help...why are we ignoring it, why do we turn and head in the opposite direction....nice stories but what about reality...I lived it, my own secluded world, no one tried to help....I wanted to leave but didn't know how....what if the ending hadn't ended as it did.....its not that we wanted to be victims, at times we have learnt to be the victim....childhood.....please don't just ignore this or anyone who you might think needs help.

This whole scenario is just another reason that women should not be so hot to trot with men. I say, keep them at arm's length or farther for as long as you can... Give them a chance to prove themselves if they are worthy...! Hah! Too many women, boo-hoo-hooing over "losing" their man when--Hello!?--in case you haven't noticed, men have been totally and completely remodeled by the porn and sex-addict industry that basically keeps them enslaved in a little world of the littel ehad... It's sad, but true. And, oh, yes, don't try to change them because they are clearly making the choice to be idiots... If they didn't want to be idiots, then they wouldn't act like the lemming-idiots they are... The porn industry is huge and has basically turned an entire nation of men, maybe the entire world of men (since they all suffer with testosterone), into a bunch of blithering fools...

Body Swerve before you have to Backlash, Ladies!! You will be the one to get hurt, because as everyone agrees and as men argue until they are blue...you can't cahnge a man...once an idiot sex addict--always a wasted piece of meat, er, I mean, what masquerades as a "man" (much less "husband"...harh!)

Enjoy your life, Have fun!! Men are a joke!! Laugh AT them, not WITH them!! Useless eaters, they are...

McNair was an a---- . He was cheating on his wife and cheating on this girl. He was a lying cheat. He deserved his fate. Don't play with people. He played with this girl, took advantage of her, and promised her things he had no intention to give. She figured it out and it drove her crazy. Don't play with people's hearts and waste their time and emotion. You will pay for it.

Wow look at all the slighted, spiteful misandrists coming out to play and project there bitter tantrums upon us all. Here is your complimentary box of tissues for your bad experiences.

Wildrose you are disgusting...to advocate murder as a justifiable fate for McNair?? Are you friggin kidding me? I don't support what he was doing in his private life (He had a CHOICE not to cheat) but to say that this woman didn't have a CHOICE to walk away when she found out what he was doing let alone premeditate the murder. I'm not really sure what brand of humanity you are subscribing too but please unsubscribe at your earliest convenience because the rest of us that reside in the world of the sane could do without you and your vengeful ilk.

    He DESERVED it....absolutely astounding.

Hope your proud using the internet to mask your identity in order to not be accountable for the things you would say in person. Congrats, we all know it must of been a tremendous feat to really tell us how you feel. *rolleyes*

Next time you badmouth your man and he smacks you upside your face...are you going to contemplate whether or not you deserved it? Thought so.

I'll say it again. People that attempt to justify cheating or revenge are really not in tune with their own maturity or whatever brand of morality they brand themselves with.

yes, he cheated but its over now for him, but for Mrs.McNair i think after the funreal she should hire a repo truck and get any cars&houses in those other hoes names and his because they knew he was a married man from the began u know golddiggers don't give a dam if u married or not its about what they can juice out of the married from threatin to tell the wife to havin a b------ baby they don't care who they hurt as long as they get it, so for other stars and pros think before u cheat

Nothing should ever really lead to murder. If someone doesn't want you or is cheating, get rid of the loser and make yourself available for a REAL divine mate.

    Hey Dubs?

Your painfully verbose comments are cringeful to read as it is- do you have to add insult to injury by not knowing the difference between there/their and your/ you're? Put down the thesaurus and pick up a dictionary first.

As for McNair, he didn't deserve to get shot. But then again, his wife didn't deserve to get cheated on. It just goes to show what can happen when you choose to complicate your relationship. Why do people forget affairs always end up badly, in one way or another?

What we should do is take heed. when you play with fire, guess what, it still burns. You can't have your cake and eat it too. What this is is sad and humiliating. This did not have to go this far. No one is saying he deserved it. but there are consequences to bad behavior and habits. Some not too good, some not good, and some well you see.
