The moment I knew I loved him...

I am not one to usually rush into things. I have only known David for a month and I realized last night that my feelings were much more serious than I thought they were. Yesterday he met my family. We ate Sunday lunch over at Mom and Dad's and watched the Cowboys game. My family loved him, this is a big deal for me. My family is very important to me and I like for them to like my boyfriend. It just makes things easier. Then he helped me move into my new place. Having his muscles was definitely a nice thing, I needed him! So so far he earned 2 gold stars on the day. Finally, we were moving my Jeep out of the driveway of my new place and it wouldn't start. I totally freaked out, I just moved into a new place and I really didn't have any extra money to be buying car parts...plus I am like 2000 miles outside of my warranty. Anyway, even though he had so much to do last night he fixed my car. Turns out it only needed a new battery, thank God. I stood there watching him sweat and grunt and I knew he was frustrated and it was not what he wanted to be doing but he didn't complain one time. I stood there and knew that this was the moment I would look back on and say "That's the moment I knew I loved him"... When we finally got everything fixed I told him thank you and told him I'm sorry and he held me and said, "I'm blessed...and stuff to do can wait until tomorrow, it's my job to take care of my baby". And I melted...

    Amanda,

Wow! what a story...wish I could find a man like that...I guess when you get older they just don't exist anymore..I have never had a man like that in my life and I will be 49yrs. old...I was married for over 20yrs...and he left me for a younger version of what I used to be...however, I am in great shape and very beautiful so I'm told and have a great personality and my own career and working on my PhD..and can cook and so on and so on and I love life and everything in it...I just never find anyone that likes me for me and when they find out I am not psycho, or need money or help and can take care of myself...they don't come around anymore...so I'm not sure why I am telling you all this except to say that I am so very happy for you..even though I am as old as I am..I feel so much younger sometimes...that I wish I was in my thirties again...spend time being with the one you love ok...

Ahh how sweet! Sounds like a good man! He also sounds like my boyfriend; he's always trying to take care of me.

I wish the best to both of you!

    Amanda,

Congratulations on finding what seems to be a good man! They seem to be a rare find these days. I'm very happy to say that I, too, have found a good man that I don't intend to let get away. And, like you, I met him online. The strange coincidence is that we have mutual, non-online friends. I wish you well in you growing relationship.

To Ladymech727: Don't give up so easily. I am 38y/o, divorced, career woman....all the things that seem to intimidate men past the age of 40. I found my wonderful man when I least expected it...or should I say that we were guided to each other. He is 32, so I had to come to grips with the fact that he was younger than me. Actually, it always seemed insignificant because we fit so well together. We have a long distance relationship, so we talk a lot which has allowed us to get to know one another quite well. So, don't count out the possibility that your special someone just might be younger than you...especially since you seem to be younger than your years. Your ex did it....who says you can't. He'll appear when you least expect it and he'll be all you ever wanted. The do still exist!!!
