Report AbuseI could hear only a few seconds of the start of any Rascal Flatts song and I would instantly know what song that was and who sings it. Most any song I like I'll know who is singing it and what song it is in a heartbeat. I'm just good and knowing what song I like and who sings it I guess.

Report AbuseJust about any contemporary Christmas song because they play the same ones over and over on the radio.
I also recognize " We Are the Champions" ( Queen)

Report AbuseHey, Kitty Kat! Our favorite artists sure can stick in our brains. Don't you find the songs you really can't stand do the same thing?
Hello River! I KNEW we'd have some music in common.....one HC to another, lol! Thanks for your support on L-J's prayer post. I don't think there's anyone on Shine who is loved more.
Springtime, so nice to see you! I hear you on the repetition of Christmas songs. Almost makes me want the season to be over!

Report AbuseKittyKat, Snow is talking about the first note or two of a song. Not the first few seconds. There's a big difference between the two.

Report AbuseI see Mr. Nit-Picky showed up! How you doing, Rebel? I'm very glad you stopped by! Can't have a post about music without you. Yes, I was referring to one note recognition but, I'll share any kind of music stories. What do YOU recognize with one note?

Report AbuseWhat first comes to mind is "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles. You know how it starts out with those horns? I probably could catch it in the first two notes, but not the first. With three notes it would be no problem at all.

Report AbuseHelloOooo Snow! Great topic. I guarantee I could hear one or two notes of any 70's tune and know it instantly. The Charlie Rich song starts with the one piano note that goes into a little ballad and I too would know it right away. Don't you just love catching a song you haven't heard in years? I have so many music memories. I can remember where I was and when I was doing the first time I heard just about any song when I was growing up. So many of those songs had very distinctive starting notes.....I just can't think of one song in particular yet. I will get back to you. I love playing music trivia!

Report AbuseRebel....there is no missing the start of that song. You know I love that one since I once featured it in a blog. "Love...love...love...all you need is love". Hmmm....come to think of it...my blog right now has that line going on. Must be a subconscious thought of mine. At least it's all good : )
