High Heels Improve Women's Sex Lives, Claims
Researcher
A scientist in Italy claims that
high-heeled shoes
offer health benefits to women that include improving their sex
lives.
In a letter published in European Urology, Dr. Maria
Cerruto reported a study of 66 women under the age of 50 in which
she found that:
those who held their foot at a 15 degree angle to the
ground — the equivalent of a two inch heel — had as good posture as
those who wore flat shoes, and crucially showed less electrical
activity in their pelvic muscles.
This suggested the muscles were at an optimum position, which
could well improve their strength and ability to contract.
The pelvic floor muscles help support abdominal organs in women
and men alike. Gynecologist Dr. Robert Kegel developed the
so-called Kegel exercises
(or "kegels") to strengthen these muscles as a treatment
for women with urinary incontinence, and discovered from the
reports of his patients that they were experiencing stronger and
better orgasms during sex.
Dr. Cerruto claims that women who regularly wear high-heeled
shoes can also experienced the sexual benefit of strengthened
pelvic floor muscles.

I do feel sexy and in charge when I wear heals hahaha. But at the same time, I feel uncomfortable and nervous. I used to model a long time ago and because I'm short, I had to wear the tallest heals. All I can think about was "please don't fall, don't fall, don't fall" and I feel like that every single time I wear heals but you'll never be able to tell ;) I wear flats most of the times for comfort and I don't have a bad posture...at the end of the day, I prefer flats...This was an interesting article tho. Learn something new everyday...

Ha! Interesting. And 2-inch heels are pretty comfortable.

Hmmm....wearing heels would indeed strengthen the pelvic muscles because heels throw your body out of balance. They create a situation where your lower back is at an unnatural angle which means your body has to rely more on the pelvic muscles for stabilization/balance. They also help build calf muscles(because the body is out of balance when wearing heels), but considering that high heels also cause lower back pain, foot pain, bunions, misshapen toes, knee problems, contribute to the development of varicose veins and create a situation where a person is more likely to twist an ankle, I'd say that "kegel" exercises would be a better option for strengthening the pelvic floor muscles. High heels are sexy, but wearing them to excess is more trouble than they are worth.

Sounds like the Italians have ulterior motives about high heels. You can strengthen those muscles and improve your posture while wearing comfortable shoes, and you don't need 2" heels to do your kegeling. This is bulls@#!

I love the fact that the heels pictured are being worn by a man!

Yeah, and I bet the Hi-Falutin' Heel Co. paid for this study.
Forget the psuedo-science and follow the money, folks. Follow the money.

I think it's all in the eye of the beholder as well as the wearer. I'm certain that wearing heels higher then 2" all day will cause problems but it's a persoanl choice for whatever reason(s). Part time wear of high heels I would think might be ok. If they were high heeled boots, knee and higher with lacing should provide a little more security as well as boatloads of sex appeal. After all, humans are naturally a sexual animal and very visual as in the animal kingdom. So wear the heels ladies and especially the boots! March on!

I look and feel sooo sexy in my heels and the attention I get from men seems to prove that I show it. I don't know if it actually "improves" my sex life but it certainly opens the door for male interests. However, I've noticed that Kegel exercises have improved my sexual experiences quite a bit. I recommend it for all women.

I always used to wear only high heels, pants, NEVER JEANS OR T-SHIRTS, but then I just got lazy! But I always felt sexy & chic.
