User post: What Reminds You of Your Ex?

It’s always nice to know that men can be just as crazy as women.

Evidently, Alex Rodriguez was so traumatized by his break up with Madonna that he can’t bear to be around white roses because they conjure up bad memories.

In their latest issue, Us Weekly claims that A-Rod “used to send Madonna bouquets of 50 white roses—twice a week—because she likes them so much,” but now can’t handle seeing the blooms whatsoever.

What does Madge love more than roses? Uh...Q-tips.

Not so fond of this little quirk is the Yankee’s rumored new girlfriend, Kate Hudson.

The mag claims that when Kate was planning A-Rod's 34th birthday party he insisted that the place be totally devoid of white roses.

Who's the sexiest male athlete? (New Jersey Devil Dave Clarkson, you get my vote! Rawwrr!)

It sucks that he has such a negative association with such a beautiful flower, but I can certainly relate.

I recently had to throw out some lovely perfume because it reminded me of a heinous breakup two years ago, and I can’t hear Lil Wayne without instantly thinking of my ex, who was obsessed with him.

Maybe in time the association will fade, but somehow I doubt it. But perhaps somewhere out there is a boy who remembers my face every time hockey is on or whenever he smells peanut butter cookies.

How about you, what reminds you of your ex? Do you have any super bad connotations associated with it? How do you get over it? Because seriously, I really love Lil Wayne…

I spent 16 years with my ex husband before we divorced this year and there are certain tv shows, his cologne, and even certain places that remind me of him and bring back memories. Some of these things I can finally be around now, but I still can't smell the cologne. I think time is really the only thing that can stop making you feel bad about things that remind you of your ex. I recently went on a trip to the beach and so much of it was nothing but pure memories-the first day was hard as hell, but the next two days got better. It's just a matter of putting things into perspective.

Certain smells and songs, especially the way a cool summer night feels because we met as freshmen in high school and used to sneak out to see each other. I have a blanket he made me (one of those cut and tie ones) and my dog. We were together for six years and now I`m pregnant so lots of constant reminders and memories...
