Our first date was awkward at first, then amazing. I remember sitting in front of my house at the end of the date & I couldn't even look him in the eyes because every time I did I thought I would puke.
The next night we had our first kiss, and after I left I had to pull over on the drive home to fight the urge to throw up. Now, you might think that was a bad thing, I mean, I had kissed a lot of guys, and none of them had ever made me want to puke before. But it wasn't a bad thing. It was amazing, this nagging feeling that this guy was the guy.
After a week we said "I love you," and after a month he told me he wanted to marry me. And I knew I would marry him.
We didn't rush into anything. We dated for three years before tying the knot, and we celebrated our five year wedding anniversary last month. We've had our highs and lows, as any couple does, but when I think back to those early days, I think of how sure I was that he was it for me.
So, was I the exception? When you met your husband, did you know quickly that he would be "the one?" Do tell.
