why do men go to prostitutes but women dont (the real reason)...

a man goes to a prostitute to have CASUAL SEX. ie sex without a relationship being involved and emotional attachment.

one may wonder if men and women both want CASUAL SEX equally, then they could do it with each other mutually for free and there would be no need for something unnatural as prostitution, right?

but prostitution still exists. even when society is sexually liberated and men and women are free to have sex there is still a demand for prostitutes from mens side....it means men have it more difficult getting casual sex than women....what are those reasons?


(1) supply-demand gap in casual sex market.

women are more likely to want sex only when emotions are involved or within the context of a relationship. women are also more likely to regret casual sex. social pressures may also exist in some societies discouraging women from indulging in casual sex behavior. consequently, if 90 out of 100 men want casual sex then only, say, 50 out of 100 women want the same. this means a supply-demand gap exists and lot of men will find it difficult getting casual sex with willing women and would consider prostitutes as an option. this also explains why men have to work harder than women to get sex.



(2)  women are much more SELECTIVE than men, about  PHYSICAL ATTRACTIVENESS & PERSONALITY of their casual sex partner.


women are more picky about looks of men when it comes to choosing a casual sex partner.
the reasons for this SELECTIVENESS are natural. women are naturally programmed to be more selective about their casual sex partners. the same trend can also be seen in females of other species where all the females choose a handful of strongest and most dominant males to mate with which means most of the males get no female at all!

it should be noted that women are less PICKY about the physical attractiveness of men when they are looking for long term relationships because here they cannot afford to be selective. but when its about just a one night stand they think 'why not pick the best looking guy around?'...but having the best looking guy as a husband is not possible for every woman. women know that for casual sex men are less picky and indiscriminate.

thus you end with a scenario where all women would consider CASUAL SEX with only the top 20% men
 
its more important for a man to be good looking and have a good personality if he wants CASUAL SEX with women. but even a regular looking woman with mediocre personality can easily have sex with better looking men, having good personalities and status. notice that men are not picky about the PERSONALITY either.

this again means a lot of men finding it difficult to get CASUAL SEX and going to prostitutes.
