Why Guys Cheat in the Summer

During the warm-weather months, men are more likely to be unfaithful. Find out why and how to spot the signs he could be two-timing you.

Remember when you were a kid and summer meant no school, freedom, and fun? Well, that attitude carries over into adulthood, leaving us with the sense that during these months, the usual rules don't apply. "Some men take this to mean that it's okay to cheat once the hot weather rolls around," explains Daniel Kruger, PhD, evolutionary psychologist at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.

And let's not forget the obvious: When the temperature goes up, clothes come off. Since guys are so easily turned on by all the female skin they see poking out of sundresses, tank tops, and short shorts on the street and at work, they're in a constant state of heightened desire. As a result, it may be easier for them to succumb to lust should an opportunity arise.

3 Signs He Could Be Straying

  • Watch out if he doesn't invite you to a work event that other coworkers' partners are attending, like an office picnic or rooftop drinks. "Not inviting you implies that he doesn't want his coworkers to know he has a girlfriend so he can flirt with someone else," says New York City therapist Diana Kirschner, PhD, author of the forthcoming Love in 90 Days.
  • Though it's normal for guys to check out other women for a second or two, even if you're right there with him, be concerned if he's taking "more than a quick glance in front of you. It's a sign he isn't concerned with appearing faithful and may be open to playing around," says Kirschner.
  • Take notice if he tells you that he wants to use his summer vacation to take a guys-only trip and doesn't set aside any time off to spend with you. True, he could really just want to hang out at the beach with his buddies. But he could also want to mess around out of town, where he's less likely to be caught.

Now its seasonal...LOL. Next time will the article be situational?.."Why Guys cheat after eating Cheerios. Why guys cheat after putting on aftershave. Why Guys cheat when you are in the shower. Why why why do guys cheat in trochaic and iambic tetrameter!"

I would not, could not, in a box.

I could not, would not, with a fox.

I will not cheat with a spouse.

I will not cheat in her house.

I will not cheat here or there.

    I will not cheat anywhere.

I do not like cheating its a scam.

    I do not cheat, Sam-I-am.

I do not cheat within a mile.

I do not cheat in any style.

I will not take her drunk or spoiled.

I will not take her moist or oiled.

I will not take her brains o scrambled,

    Despite that argument is well-rambled.

No fan I am of propaganda.

    Riling sheep with agenda.

    Destroy that Cheater! Today! Today!

    Today I say!

    Without delay!

Is there really a reason WHY when it comes to cheating. People will do it because they think they can get away with it..notice I said "People" not just one gender.

What should be asked is...Why keep peddling the victimology of men's infedility to women?

Why don't we all just spam "Report Abuse" for stereotypical articles that do nothing but reaffirm biases.........but my "Report Abuse" button doesn't work. *frowns snapping fingers in defeat*

Here are a few good reasons:

It is sweltering, sultry, sunny and hot.

    Testosterone rises in summer.

Women are half naked everywhere he goes.

    There is more alcohol consumption.

People are on vacation and "what happens at the beach stays at the beach"

He is not a monogamous man; or he is a serial monogamist who follows the same pattern with every woman.

He is not worth thinking about.

Go out and have your own fling, and stop worrying about what he is doing.

Men who love you or respect you and are sexually satisfied do not cheat, neither do women; unless there is some type of an incentive they cannot resist; i.e. power, money, position, opportunity.
