Why the games?

I'm honestly so disappointed in myself and in men. Why do we still play games? Why do people lead you to believe that they are interested and never do a thing about it? I just think I'm past the maturity level of high school students and for some reason the men in the age-range that I feel acceptable dating (25-33) still act like prom is just around the corner. Why even waste my time?! I don't have that much to spare and I don't see a point in flirting if I can't see myself dating you.
I just don't understand this cat and mouse game that everyone seems too eager to play. I don't want to do it anymore and I thought I had learned my lesson but I guess not. I should at least know the rules by now. The more "standardly" attractive you are, the more likely you are to play games and be a jerk. Why can't an attractive guy just be a decent person too? I was hoping this guy at work would be different but I guess he was just leading me on as well. Can I give up yet?
Guy meets girl, guy likes girl, guy gets girl's number, guy calls girl. Why can't this just be the norm? Yes, we analyze the heck out of everything that has a Y chromosome but I'd rather analyze why he said something rather then why I never got the call. Is it me? I'm just so truly and painfully sick of these games because I can't seem to stop myself from getting burnt.

THE GAMES THAT MEN PLAY IS JUST THAT,,,,GAMES. I AM SURE THAT THERE IS SOMEONE FOR EVERYONE OF US. BE PATIENT AND DONT LOOK FOR IT, IT WILL COME. OUT!!!

Actually liking the person and a mixture of fear of rejection may be a factor for the games people play. Just a thought. And yes I agree it can be quite tough... for both involved.
