Daily Shot: 'Free Play' Debate: Are Kids Today Missing Out?!

Ali and John discuss Lenore Skenazy's book Free-range Kids, which advocates letting kids play by themselves, unsupervised at parks— even in big cities like NYC. She even arranges play dates for kids in Central Park, where parents drop off their tykes to play while Skenazy sits at a local coffee shop (with a cell phone on-hand in case of emergencies) and lets the kids roam free.

Would you enroll your kids in one of these unsupervised play dates? Tell us in the comments below!

More can't-miss moments: Ali talks an 18-year-old high school football player who was allegedly kicked off the team for kissing his 65-year-old boyfriend; 81-year-old Carmen Dell'Orefice, the oldest runway model at New York Fashion Week; and a mother of five who found an ex-con living in her attic.
