Why Lori Loughlin and John Stamos Never Got Together

When sparks flew between Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse on "Full House," nobody could doubt the chemistry between Lori Loughlin and John Stamos. Over the years, fans hoped for a real-life romance. Last spring, John confirmed in an interview what many had already expected. Lori was "the one that got away."

"That was very nice of him to say that," Lori says about the confession. The actress, who has been happily married to fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli for almost 17 years, says it came down to a matter of timing. "I was married at the time I was doing the show to my first husband," Lori explains. "Right as I was getting divorced, he met Rebecca."

Lori admits that she never gets tired of talking about her "Full House" days, so we had her select some cast class superlatives:

Best Dressed "Me!"
Drama King? "Bob," Lori says, referring to Bob Saget, of course. "He’s going to hate me for that."

Fans of Lori can catch her in the Hallmark Channel series "When Calls the Heart," which follows life in a small coal-mining town in the early 1900s. She plays Abigail Stanton, a woman whose husband is killed in a mining explosion. "It's about her triumph in overcoming that tragedy, and how she is now surviving on her own and taking care of herself," Lori says. "In this town of incredible women, it's about community, friendship, and persevering."
