While in China, Katy Perry isn't just showing the world how flexible she is. She attended a performance by the China National Orchestra in Beijing, and was honored with a beautiful instrumental performance of her song "Roar."
"It's very beautiful, I've never heard my music being played like that. It's very spiritual to me," she told the crowd at the event. "I almost cried my both eyelashes off."
These incredible musicians aren't the only ones to make Katy's song even more inspirational than it already is. Here are five more truly moving interpretations of the hit song:
This lip-dub of "Roar," made by patients and staff at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in New Hampshire, is a heartwarming look into the daily life at a children's hospital. This video practically brought the collective Internet to tears when it was first uploaded last October.
Olivia Wise was a wonderful 16-year-old girl who loved to sing. Diagnosed with brain cancer, her cousin wanted to give her a special gift to brighten her spirits. He booked Olivia some time in a recording studio, where she was given the opportunity to record a cover of "Roar." Her song was shared online and got all the way back to Katy, who responded with her own video.
Sadly, Olivia passed away in late November. Her recording of "Roar" is sold on iTunes, with proceeds going to the Liv Wise Fund to help kids with cancer, and to help fund research. So far, over $200,000 has been raised.
Even if you can't hear Katy's song, you can still enjoy it with YouTube user Anissa's cover. This cheerful performer interprets the song using American Sign Language. She's covered dozens of pop songs in ASL so the hearing impaired - or those who want to learn ASL - can sing along.
The talented kids from PS 22 also put their spin on "Roar." Katy personally loves this chorus, and performed her single "Firework" with them on Oprah in 2011.
