Despite incessant news reports about a "snowpocalypse," two Nashville-based geese decided to go for a dip anyway, and soon found themselves halfway frozen into the pond. Lucky for them, a kayaker came to their rescue.
CBS Atlanta reports that several people spotted the frozen fowl, and alerted the city's parks and recreation team as to their condition. A man from the crew got into a kayak, slid across the ice, broke into it with a mallet, and rescued the birds.
Coming off the ice, the geese were taken to a local wildlife sanctuary to receive treatment. They were told that next time there's a storm warning, they needed to stock up on supplies in advance like the rest of the world.
