Bond No. 9 perfume samples, 6 for $15

Bond No. 9 is a fancy-hip New York perfumery that puts out fun fragrances named after NYC neighborhoods and landmarks. While its regular bottles and collections can be pricey, if you go with these cutely wrapped samples you choose whichever scents you want at a much, much cheaper price.

I'm a person who gives products as presents. I give them to my mom, my sister, my friends. I even give expensive baby products when people have babies, and I've been known to pick up a fancy shave cream or manly moisturizer for my husband if I see it. This is why: Really great beauty products are a tiny thing that can actually make your whole day. An extravagant soap, pricey lip gloss, or new favorite scent can bring heaps of joy without costing nearly as much as designer fashion. The products above are not reasonably priced. They're indulgences, the kinds of things you rarely purchase for yourself, but when you receive them, you feel somehow special. They're also the sorts of items any girly girl beauty junkie in your life will love.

DHC makes a cleansing oil that I'm assuming does the exact same thing as the Shu Uemura stuff. It is only slightly cheaper, at $24, but it looks like the bottle is bigger so it might be a better deal. Like Jennifer said, this product has been life changing for me and every woman I know who has tried it. www.dhccare.com

Some of this stuff is a little over my price range. My limit is usually $50 per gift. However, I really liked the perfume sampler and the C.O. Bigelow lip glosses. I'd pretty much love to get any of the stuff on this list.

Too bad the majority of these gifts are way too pricey! $20 for nail polish???? Come on. OPI makes excellent polish in thousands of colors for a mere $8.00 a bottle.

$32 for mascara??? Give me a break. I'm a beauty junky myself and I would NEVER spend $32 on mascara... how insane is that???

Ulta Cosmetics (if you have one near) is a great alternative to shop for many of these items - at a much more reasonable price.

The greatest gift exchanges require thoughtfulness, listening, and really understanding who another person is and what they like and need—that's what I always strive for in giving and it's the only thing I hope for in receiving.
