My daughter still makes things with the kind of clay that you bake and it gets hard. The older she gets the more intricate the objects are. She just made her dad a miniature electric guitar - complete with guitar stand. It looks very realistic!!

My kids and I made gifts for the grandparents a couple years ago. One idea was angel magnents We took pics of the kids and cut out there face in round circles for the head, used paper doilies folded into fourths shapesfor the body and wings cut from syrofoam plates, halos were made from silver pipe cleaners and a magnent was attached to the back. MIL still has her little "angels" on the fridge. We also made snowflake pins using the same pics of thier faces cut out and decoupaged to the center of a painted and glittered wooden snowflake ornament with a broach pin hot glued to the back. The last idea we used was fleece scarves with cut fringe. I had the kids trace thier hands on colored felt and sewed thier three left hand prints on one side and thier three right hand prints on the right side.

My grandchildren are always bringing little things they make. I love each one of them and keep them all. They drew their hands and made little reindeer out of them with their names and the year on them. They have made little cards out of wrapping paper and wrote in them even when in kindergarten. They are still on the refrigerator for Christmas. My son who is 38 this year made a plate in kindergarten for Christmas and drew on it. It is still on the counter displayed and he looks for it! Homemade presents from the heart mean the most. Merry Christmas to all.

The greatest gift exchanges require thoughtfulness, listening, and really understanding who another person is and what they like and need—that's what I always strive for in giving and it's the only thing I hope for in receiving.
