"Recycle Your Style": The trends from last fall that are even more popular this year!

Before you go spending money to bulk up your wardrobe for fall we counted 6 trends from last year that are even MORE popular now.  See how you can recycle and reinvent what you already own.

Every time fall comes around I feel like I have amnesia. I get so used to my simple summer wardrobe that I forget what it was like to deal with sweaters, put outfits together, layer pieces. Well, if you feel the same way, here's something that might help.

See if you have any of these trends that we highlighted back in Fall/Winter 2008 and see how great they look when you combine them.

•Menswear-inspired vests + faux leather leggings

Menswear inspired vests were everywhere last year. We saw them in music videos and on 'Gossip Girl'. But now, they're even more on trend especially when worn with a pair of faux leather leggings. We talked about the leggings trend last fall, too. But the key this time around is to put the two looks together. The sexiness of the leggings balances out the masculinity of the vest.

•Motorcycle jackets + statement necklaces

In our episode on winter coats— one of my favorites because we shot it out in Central Park— we highlighted the cropped motorcycle jacket as a must-have. The trend is still going strong, and there are even more well-priced options on the market to choose from. To soften the tough-chic look of the cropped leather jacket, add a great statement necklace or two or three. If you didn't pick one up last year when we first told you to, the good news is, there are plenty of gorgeous bargain options available right now.

•One-shoulder dresses + booties

Asymmetrical dresses that give you a chance to show off your sexy shoulders were a hit last fall. In fact, they were so well received, no one wants to let them go. We saw them on the runway at Balmain and Calvin Klein and now even stores like H&M are carrying them in bold neons. Our favorite way to wear a flirty, one-shoulder piece is to pair it with some black ankle booties. Last fall we did a studio visit with Christian Siriano as he prepared for his first collection. Since then he's teamed up with Payless to design high style, budget-friendly shoes including a pair of fantastic black ankle boots. If you can't recycle last year's pair, Christian's are a great deal at $49.99.

Hope this helps with your fall dressing and if you have any other recycling advice, let us know.

I think this is the first fashion tip show I've ever seen that has shown clothes I can actually afford! I'm tired of fashion makeover shows on TV showing shirts that are "only $200" or dresses that are "just $400." Advice that I can afford . . . I think I'll check this place out more often.

Ahem. Why no guy tips? Guys buy clothes and girls buy for guys too.

Someone get the memo out: ankle booties and a dress look ridiculous-- like hooves.

    Mims,

depends on the size of the woman (yikes)

We come in all shapes and sizes - I am abnormally small, so I wouldn't wear some things that are "hip" and all the models wear either but we need to understand what styles work best for our body types/sizes. Lots of people go on and on about large women wearing minis and tank tops (which frankly show too much skin for my sense of modesty no matter my size) but someone small like me can't wear a lot of it either...I agree that ankle booties can be ridiculous with the WRONG dress, but a long skirt that shows only the bottom is okay (unless it's Halloween - I pulled off a really cute glam witch costume last year doing this with stuff from my own closet (no purchase required...lol)...some of the styles out there make us all look like Janis Joplin on crack (oh wait, she WAS on drugs, hehe, but you know what I mean) Dresses with jeans are also atrocious - not sure who thought THAT was a good idea either. CLOGS are disgusting looking, period. Good Gawd Almighty, who comes up with some of these "styles"???

I think the best fashion accessory is pearl .Timeless ,classic and very affordable this days-I found site with good taste and affordable

    price:http://pearlfectworld.com

    As for fashion tips ,well...

Strands of pearls, ropes of pearls-classic and timeless pearls are a versatile staple of any jewelry collection.

They can be worn in a simple single strand or combined with other gems for textured look, and are the perfect accessory for both day and night.

It is easy to create, update, and wear fine pearl jewelry.
