The best day for weight loss

I know, I know, the first day of the workweek is tough enough but stay with me on this. Loads of studies show that Monday is really the best time to kick off any get-healthy regimen for this simple reason: it represents a clean slate, which is vital when it comes to embracing a smarter lifestyle plus there’s always another one right around the corner. Not convinced? Here are a few more reasons Monday is the greatest day when it comes to your health:

It’s a fresh start

Just like Friday always begs the question: what will I do this weekend? (i.e., eat, drink and be merry), Monday just naturally lends itself to a more practical point of view—it’s the day you assess your workload, appointments, grocery shopping. Take stock of the week ahead with your new healthy habits in mind and plan accordingly.

The secret to loving your workout

It’s a ‘trigger’ day

Studies actually show that when it comes to embarking on any healthy activity, if you have a so-called trigger day—a set date or reminder—you’re more likely to follow through. Even better? Monday rolls around every 7 days, as opposed to say, once year, like Jan 1st, so even if you get off track, another Monday is just around the corner.

It’s preceded by 48 hours of free(ish) time

This matters because you have two free days to prepare, and launching into a new healthy routine without planning sets you up for failure—how can you eat healthier if there’s nothing healthier in the house to eat? Use these days to grocery shop, dig out your workout clothes, write up a schedule, give your junk food to the neighbors. Whatever it take to get you into the healthy living mindset.

Burn calories all weekend.

What motivates you to stick with a diet and exercise plan? Looking good in a bikini? Feeling great naked? Just wanting to be healthier?

Seriously though, when did begging the question start to mean raising the question? I see this all the time now so I'm guessing it's now acceptable usage.

Give your body a boost to get going. Some supplements can help a lot. mysynaurteam , this is a dot com. I feed myself antioxidants and my body feels less stress inside and out.

I was a four time All American athlete, in my mid 50s now and still as strong as ever. I couldn't do it without healthy eating and excercise. I've replaced omlets, toast and sausage with rasin bran. What a difference. I can reward myself with a big fried breakfast once a month just for fun, but the taste for it even goes away. I love feeling healthy!!!

Everyday is the perfect day to start a healthier lifestyle. The only time I would agree with this article is if today were actually Monday, and I decided to start living healthier that day.

I think some people have so many compounded unhealthy habits in their lives that they think it'll take a miracle to make them healthy again.

Living healthy is simple, but sometimes takes some REALLY big changes, that are only going to be defeated over time and by consistently using your own will power.

    No smoking and no boozing.

No junk food. (You know what junk food is, so just don't eat it)

Eat more fruits and veggies. (Much heavier on the veggies)

Don't eat more than 4 oz of meat per day.

Don't eat red meat more than once per month.

Exerise 5 times per week for at least an hour each day. (Ellipticals are great!)

This will not be easy. The most important thing to remember is that you WILL fall off the wagon, but it's not over just because you fell off. Get back on immediately!

I disagree! Friday night would be the best time to kick off your workout routine. Instead of going out to the bar or sitting on your butt watching a movie.....GO WORK OUT! This way you don't indulge in excessive alchol intake or overeating with laziness.
