The temptress leather look is in, big time, and nothing gets that message across better than a dramatic over the knee boot. The problem is, a pair of up-to-there boots can quickly make your innocent little black dress look not quite so innocent. So, here's how we're toning down this style of the moment and making it work with our style.

See where to buy the pieces - four are under $100!

To combat the boot's sexy overtones, choose a slightly more reserved tone and either a modest heel (no sky-high stilettos ladies, you are not Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman) or none at all. Next, try a comfy cotton legging for easy boot tuckage and an oversized shirt to counter balance the sex appeal of your footwear. To complete the look, we'd try some of the other big fall trends with a unique denim jacket and a lightweight scarf in a fun print.

I love those ABBA boots, too! And her ethnic pattern sweater she wears with them. That's a cute outfit. I need to do some shopping and knitting now!!!

When I was in a six I could still fit boots that would zip comfortably over my calfs, so I don't get the bashing on boots and skinny people. I'm in a four now, but my legs still have curves and the boots still fit. There's just a matter of trying on different boots to see which cuts will work best. Oh and yes CL, that is a lot of money for boots. And to think, I was having a hard time trying to justify $100 on a cute pair I saw just the other day. I obviously didn't justify it because I didn't buy them.

Charlotte Russe makes these really simple faux suede over the knee flat boots that are sooo comfy and if anyones interested they have a very stretchy material on the inside and very loose fabric on the outside so that if you DO have larger calves (like i do =D) they still fit wonderfully and still look very trendy for the season. they also come in black, grey, and a light brown color (that i'm not really fond of) but my boyfriend is buying my black ones today and i'm hoping to pick up the grey ones soon after :)

Damn.... $320 for a pair of boots? The heels doesn't even look like it would fair well in icy situations, which would be the only reason why I would buy a pair of thigh-high boots. You gotta have a nice style, but you also have to have a purpose for them.

Oh I don't know. I think I'm to fat to wear this particular trend. However it is really cute. Now, my daughter might give it a try. She's 20...

The best way to wear thigh-high boots?

      The ABBA way!

I would love to have the boots this girl's wearing in their video, Take a Chance on Me:

How about you recommend some brands that make this style for women who don't wear a size 00?

Boots never really fit me because they are made for stick figures, like the models seen here. How about something for a woman who's a size 6/8? Something that might zip up past a curve in the calf?

Um yeah boots are not made for stick figures. I'm 5'9/120lbs, I guess "stick figure" to you. I can't find a pair of boots that isn't to big around my ankle and calf. Unless your wearing YSL Coutures unfortunately you have to deal with the generic sizing of standard brands. So either get rich, or get average sized.

And for the record I don't starve myself- I'm thin partly because of genetics and partly well because I choose to be. It's this thing called exercise, an hour a day works wonders.

I would LOVE to wear that style... I love how Uma Thurman wore them in the Avengers... however, at 5'1" and wearing a size 12... I don't see that happening...

Mali Malz... im a size 2-4 and im a regualar normal sized woman. i dont starve myself thats just my size. i wish smaller girls would stop hating on bigger girls and vice versa, its getting annoying.

i do agree with you on the price though. i would really love a pair of boots like that, but its just too expensive.
