What Does Your Makeup Say About You?

I have a close friend who has a lucky lipstick. It's a classic -- Revlon's Fire and Ice Lipstick -- and looks fabulous on her. Not only does it brighten her entire face, it also has major lasting power, as in survives a full cheeseburger, fries, and wine meal and still looks completely fresh. (To find the best red lipstick for your skin tone, click here.) BUT this post this isn't about her lipstick, like I said, it's about her lucky lipstick.

See, whenever she needs good vibes, like on a job interview or when meeting a new guy, she just swipes on her favorite red. And, always -- I really mean always -- things magically work out. She gets the job, and that new guy turns out to be amazing.

Coincidence? That's what I thought. Then, I spoke withseveral makeup artists and appearance professionals, including Linda Mason, author of "Eye Candy," and I learned something truly mind blowing. Apparently, your makeup look sends signals out into the world. (To see what signals your makeup is sending, click here) And that lucky red lipstick? Well, it just so happens that red lipstick says you're confident, fearless, bold, and upbeat. (Hmm ... maybe I need to invest in some?)

And that's not all I learned. I found out just what smoky eye makeup, nude lips, the cat eye, and a whole bunch of other makeup looks mean. Check out the gallery below and find out what your makeup look tells the world.

I wear false eyelashes everyday. They take 2 seconds and are very natural and no one ever know the are fake. And so what if they do? ALL MAKE UP IS FAKE! And I still love it!

IMO, make-up should be appropriately worn to whatever type of event plus what you are wearing where you are planning to attend. I still believe that less is more. There is nothing worse than having people get used to seeing you in tons of make-up, to then if the heavy make-up wearer decides to wear less one day; what a major difference in the sight of; "eek gads"...I always believe that the closer you stay to your natural beauty with just a few additional enhancements, the better less physical insecurities which the WOLVES like to PLAY upon..

Cherub anything "false" on a woman, be it lashes or breasts...screams high maintence to men. Who cares if you are offended by the truth...seriously, if you can't handle the truth then you're not confident enough to be using false lashes

I'm curious to know what your friend's career is, because in most careers, red lipstick means you won't be taken seriously.

It makes my daughter so angry that everyone has fake everything because people think her natural beauty has been altered. She has eyelashes that are thick and long and when she puts mascara on they are ridiculously gorgeous. She is 5'7, tiny with 32D natural breasts. I hear the comments from women all of the time as we walk by about her "fake boobs." I wish society would give it a rest on the fake everything and let everyone enjoy the natural beauty that they have.

im offended by the false lash one, first of all what is the difference with taking two seconds to glue on some lashes to make your eyes pop more. i love to wear shadow, lashes and mascara. i hardly ever wear lip color or lip stick and dont even use heavy foundations. i find that much more fake looking and more work when you have to slather yourself in heavy nasty foundation and cake on your make up. i look a hell of a lot more natural with my false lashes then someone do with their make up. and its all in how you wear the lashes. if you buy ones that are not 5 feet long obviously you can pull off a more natural look.
