3 Tips for Pulling Off a Pantsuit

    By Tracey Lomrantz, Glamour magazine

Thinking about wearing pantsuit anywhere other than the office? Then read on to find out how to chic-ify it, just like one of our favorite style stars recently did...

It's no secret around here that we've got a clothing crush on Alexa Chung--and with outfits like this, it's easy to see why! She hit the red carpet in a tailored pantsuit by Stella McCartney, and it works for a few reasons:

    1. Impeccable fit There's no faking it when it comes to a pantsuit--the hems have to hit in exactly the right place (she shows juuuuust enough ankle to make this sexy!), the sleeves must be the perfect length, and the jacket should hug your body in all the right places. Finding a good tailor is an essential part of the equation (many stores include it for free when you buy a suit there!).

    2. A touch of something girly. The ribbon bow tie gets the job done here, but you could just as easily femme it up with a sparkly necklace or hot pink pumps. The idea is to remind people that you're borrowing from the boys, not trying to look like one!

    3. Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity. This is not the time to mess around with an armful of mismatched bangles or a wildly patterned turban. A suit should convey confidence and power, and the best way to do that is by letting it speak for itself! A crisp white shirt and understated accessories score bonus points for Alexa.

Are you planning on wearing a pantsuit this spring? Do you think you can pull it off outside the office? What do you think of Alexa's version? Discuss!

I like the idea of manish clothing on woman. Not everyone can pull it off, but it's very chic when it works. I have thought of wearing suits myself, because I can get very moody and sometimes feminine things just are or aren't my thing. So I will try this!
