Love nail effects, like shatter and crackle? Then you'll love magnetic nail polish. Here's how it works: First, paint your nails with a thick coat of the magnetic nail polish. The polish actually has little magnetic particles in it that activate under a small magnet. (The polishes usually include magnets in fun shapes.) After holding the magnet over the polish for a few seconds, the particles move into the shape of the magnet. Pretty cool, right?

Hands down, my favorite beauty product is nail polish. (Yes, pun intended.) I spend way too much time at work talking about the latest trends, shooting IMs back and forth with nail art ideas, trying to guess my co-workers polish shades, and even testing out the craziest styles in the office kitchen. Right now, I can't get enough of the latest fall nail trends -- and not just colors. I'm talking new special effects, designs, and products. After a super-productive debate with some of my fellow editors (frankly, it's a wonder we get any work done at all), we managed to narrow down the top five trends we're obsessed with right now.
