We thought we'd seen it all in wacky fashion around here--our gallery of the 00's strangest fashion inventions includes a hooded thong and winking jeans, after all!--but then along comes the Paris Lingerie Show, complete with a bra that expands when you flirt! Get the full scoop after the jump.
When a trade show focused solely on skivvies rolls into Paris on January 23, it'll bring with it a slew of high-tech gadgets intended to give you your best-ever decolletage. Among the offerings, according to AFP, are "The cupless anti-wrinkle bra designed by Decollete, [which] is supposed to be thrown on at bedtime keeping breasts apart to prevent the formation of feared crinkles that appear in the night," and "A range of French lingerie called Milkshake in a fabric made of milk proteins that contains 10 amino acids to hydrate the skin."
But by far the most fascinating is "The smart bra from Slovenia's Lisca, boasting cups made of memory foam that ebbs and flows with body-heat -- a NASA patented technology from the 1960s" (pictured, above). The idea is, as you flirt with someone, your temperature rises, and the bra responds by expanding, hence giving you a little extra something-something when it matters most. Can you just imagine standing in line at Starbucks, scoping out a cute guy while you wait for your latte, and suddenly--TA DA!--you're a little more endowed than you were 30 seconds ago? Talk about an evolutionary advantage!
Does the idea of all of this high-tech lingerie excite you? Would you guys check out a bra that prevents wrinkles, or one that expands and contracts with your body heat? Does all of it sound like a silly gimmick, or would you actually buy this stuff if it landed in stores? Discuss!
