Hey, fellow bathing beauties: Can you believe swimsuit season's only weeks away? We're having a little warm spell here in NYC today, which put me in the mood to try on last season's bikinis and see what still works. I know, I know...who in their right mind would ever be in the mood to try on bikinis? Gals who follow this smart tip, that's who!
We know shopping for bathing suits ranks right up there with a root canal under the category of "stuff that really, really sucks" but this season, it doesn't have to be a confidence zapper. Before I even think about stepping into a fitting room to try on swimwear, I follow this one little rule: Get ready as if you're really going to the beach.
That means exfoliating, shaving, waxing, heck, even a little bit of self-tanner, to help put you in the right mindset and feel great about the way you look in the mirror. When your reflection shows your winter self--y'know, the one that let the bikini wax upkeep slide when you broke up with your last boyfriend, or hasn't seen sunlight since Labor Day--you're much more prone to an unpleasant experience in the dressing room. But when you've take a few extra minutes to get yourself ready, it suddenly doesn't seem so scary. (Signing up for our FREE Bikini Blast program will probably help, too!).
It's amazing what a little grooming can do, dolls, don't you think? What's your swimsuit try-on routine? Do you have any confidence-boosting tricks you want to share? What do you think of mine? Discuss!
