    Alexa Ray Joel follows mom Christie Brinkley as new spokesperson for Prell shampoo

    Alexa Ray Joel, the 24-year-old daughter of Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkey, not only shares her mother's good genes--she's now following in her footsteps as the new Prell shampoo girl. In the commercial, Joel lathers up and tosses her lustrous hair exactly as Brinkley did over 25 years ago.

    "Wanna hear a great tip I learned from mom?" asks Joel, referencing a photo of Brinkley that sits atop a piano. She goes on to talk about how the shampoo has been a favorite for generations. (Prell was introduced in 1947 by Proctor and Gamble, and quickly became famous for it's unique texture, clear green color, and rich foaming properties.)

    In the latest commercial, Joel does have one unique advantage over her famous mom. She is a singer-songwriter, just like her father, and this Prell ad concludes with Alexa singing a few notes from her song, "Hideaway." Watch and compare the ads below:

      Sorry, but she can't sing that well. I've heard her stuff before this ad, and uh-uh. She's not a bad looking girl, but she surely does look like her dad, and he was NEVER a nice looking guy, but looks aren't supposed to be 'all there is', unless of course you live in show business and have a super model mom! Alexa needs to go a completely different way in life than either of her parents.

      And Paula is right too -she unfortunately looks like her dad. Plus I've heard her singing and she isn't very good at it.

      I think Alexa needs to find her own path. She looks a lot like her dad, maybe she got that song writing gene from him. Billy's voice is not all that, but he's a star because of what he wrote.His music touches people, especially "Allentown" and "Piano Man". Grab a pen or a keyboard, Alexa. Stephen King was once asked how to write, he replied something like, "sit down at the keyboard and open a vein" You have the well to draw from, the pain. I'll be watching for songs written by this unusual looking, but attractive young lady.

      Poor Alexa. Her mom spent all her time with the drama of new men and new babies she never paid attention to Alexa's education. After Christie divorced Billy Joel, she married a con artist and had his baby. That marriage lasted a year. Then in a short time she married another guy and had two babies with him before she new he was having an affair with an 18 year old. Billy Joel spent his time marrying 22 year olds when he was in his late fifties. Neither parent was a good parent to Alexa
