    Artist creates perfume out of her own urine

Photo by Thinkstock.Lady Gaga's new perfume is said to smell like blood and semen, while another artist recently made a fragrance out of his own poop. Well, three times makes a trend as we've just discovered yet another bodily fluid worn as perfume. (Suddenly bacon cologne isn't sounding to bad, huh?)

    Conceptual artist Cherry Tree (real name Charity Blansit) has what she calls "a close relationship to urine." In an interview with Weird News Blansit explains how-and perhaps more importantly, why-she decided to make her own urine into a fragrance. "I am very much into recycling," she said. "And urine is something I've thought needs to be recycled, since it's something that gets eliminated." Back in 2006 she gathered her first sample the morning after a full moon until she had a collection. "I was fascinated by how the smell changes depending on what you eat," she said. "For instance, it smells really good after you eat a lot of honey and it smells terrible after eating chicken." OK, um, GROSS!

    With her new scent dicovery, Blansit decided to take things to the next level. "I noticed each bottle had its own scent, so I thought I'd add a little sugar to it and make a real 'eau de toilette,'" she told Weird News. Her brother, Jim Blansit (who is totally cool with her pee perfume, by the way), runs a distillery, and he taught her the right technique. We know we're not the only ones who thinks her habit is odd, but Blansit insists it's quite natural. "People like the smell of musk? Well, one type of musk comes from a gland located between the stomach and genitals of a deer," she said.

    Blansit has so many scented bottles of urine she's been having an awfully hard time deciding on just one to go mass. "I'd have to sell it in small quantities or make it for people out of their own urine," she said. "Honestly, I don't want to imagine the logistics of that." Hmm. So perfume made of your own urine is fine, but someone else's is gross? Duly noted.
