YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

    Back to Basics

If your like me, spending an absurd amount of time on the internet on a daily basis then I am sure you are familiar with the addicting and inspirational site Pinterest. There's been many days that I have found myself at my desk at work or on the couch at night just scrolling through the many sites that Pinterest has to offer whether it be their innovative products, holiday craft ideas, or the many recipes that I know I will never cook but like to pin anyways. It dawned on me the other night that I have been spending so much time on my iphone randomly sliding through peoples pins that I have completely neglected the large amount of magazines that have been collecting dust. Those magazines that used to consume my after dinner time had now been over run by the internet. So I decided to pick one up and get back to the basics. If your like me and have found that over the years your magazine subscription has grown to overwhelming amounts then its time to start a "look book". I like to think of it as an old school approach to Pinterest ( along with also being more green). Take out those scissors and start clipping! Fashion mags for years have been known to supply us with some pretty amazing pictorial spreads and it's time we start filing them for the future rather then just glancing over and tossing in the trash. I found the entire process to be very theraputic and with in hours I had filled my first binder. I recommend setting up tabs for specific categories such as interior design, food, or clothes I would die to see in my closet ( sound familiar... us pinners refer to them as boards). Give it a try and you'd be surprised how quick you will be to pull out one of those binders the next time you have a ladies night, or just need a little inspiration boost!
