I'm really big on pampering yourself. Busy women like me are always on the go and we never take time out for ourselves. I'm trying to get much better with taking a little me time, whether it's a trip to a spa (which I believe that everyone should experience, even if it's just once a year) or an at home facial. When we finally do get around to that one thing that often gets neglected are our lips. Have you noticed that many facial products tell you not to apply to your lips? Smooth and healthy lips make all the difference, especially if you're on the bold lips trend this season. It's a big problem area for me and I'm always looking for something that can keep them moisturized.
The people at BlissSpa had girls like me in mind with their Fabulips Treatment Kit ($45). This is a facial for your lips only, ridding them of impurities, giving them a great exfoliation, and leave them soft and moisturized.
So here's my rundown of the products included in this kit:
Foaming Lip Cleanser: Remember the Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask I reviewed back in June? This cleanser is the lip version, lifting impurities and getting those lips really clean with cocoa butter, Shea butter and rice bran that come together in a cool foaming action. It feels fantastic and left my lips feeling super clean (I even use the mask and the cleanser together. J ) Word of caution though, it may feel awesome but it looks kinda crazy so I suggest you use it in the privacy of your shower if you don't live alone! (Just sayin')
Sugar Lip Scrub: I love sugar scrubs period so I use this one a little more often than the cleanser. It gently exfoliates all the dead skin and icky flakes off your lips with finely granulated sweet sugar, almond and walnut shell, and a vanilla and orange flavored formula (and yes, it smells and tastes just as good as it sounds). Having smooth lips is key to rocking bold lips this season so I make sure I use this if I plan on wearing any of my fav red lipsticks.
Instant Lip Plumper: This mint flavored lip balm claims to give you fuller lips but honestly I couldn't see much difference lip volume. But what I did love about this product is how it moisturizes. It honestly works better than the softening lip balm and out of all the products in this kit, I use this one daily. When I put it on, I get a nice little tingly feeling, my lips are super soft, and it stays put even after eating. I like apply it in the a.m, having my Special K Chocolately Delight Cereal (ya'll this cereal is so good! Seriously!) and then apply my lipstick or gloss.
Softening Lip Balm: This is what is supposed to soften and moisturize your lips with a formula filled with Shea butter, jojoba and grapeseed oils and vitamin E. However, like I said earlier, it doesn't work as well as the lip plumper. It's nice to have in your bag for touch ups but first thing in the morning when my lips are super dry, I go to the plumper. It's not as glossy looking though which is great for guys to use too!
Overall, I really enjoyed using the kit. Though it may seem a little pricey for something that you would only use on your lips, it's a good splurge item to have. If there's anything that I would go out and get once I run out it would definitely be the Scrub and the Plumper.
So what do you think ladies? Is it something you would try?
