Beauty Book Review: Crazy Busy Beautiful by Carmindy

Beauty books are my bible for research and leisure reading. Many are well written and offer great tips and tricks for everyone - male or female, young or old. What not to wear's resident celeb makeup artist, Carmindy, recently launched her third book, Crazy busy beautiful. I was invited to the Carmindy's book launch and birthday party and at the exclusive private club, Norwood in NYC, where I got to mingle with the effervescent makeup artist and help celebrate Carmindy's birthday, and take away a free copy of her new book and some items from her makeup range.

Crazy Busy Beautiful is a collection of beauty tips by edited by Carmindy and featuring those of her readers as well.

The book features practical tips that are quick, easy and economical, such as this one;
"Quickie make-do foundation: mix a little moisturizer on the back of your hand with a smear of concealer and apply it over the skin with a non-latex sponge."

The book also devotes chapters to skincare and makeup concerns. My favorite chapter is "Get Cheeky" which gives an in depth lowdown on how to wear, choose and use blush.

Carmindy recommends, "instead of tossing that bright cream blush, mix in a bit of tinted moisturizer to tone it down to a more wearable shade."

Though I've only had this book for three days, I managed to finish it on my subway ride home the other night. The book is very easy to read as the tone and style is kept in an informal and conversational manner.

I found the book a cheerful read jam packed with great tips that don't require a lot of time. Overall I recommend this book to anyone looking to skim time off their beauty routines and to people just beginning to explore the world of skincare and cosmetics.
